PF cancels Kalabo district rally

Share

The ruling Patriotic Front have cancelled its rally which was scheduled to take place today at the Freedom square in Kalabo District.

Kalabo PF Campaign Coordinator Richard Mwapela who confirmed the development to ZANIS today.

Mr. Mwelwa explained that Mr Lungu who was expected to address a sizeable crowd today could not make it to Kalabo because traditional leaders in Southern Province sought audience with him.

Mr Mwapela who is also former Western Province minister however expressed his confidence that the ruling party would still carry the day in Kalabo district as the local people were interested in continuity..

He explained that most voters still had confidence in PF and come January 20th the Party would emerge victorious adding that the Party at grass root was intact and solid a symbol that things were going on smoothly.

Mr Mwapela further said the PF government had brought a lot of unprecedented development in the District which every resident should appreciate.

He cited the construction of Mongu –Kalabo road, Trades School, News Prison and Social Cash Transfers for vulnerable people as some of the good things that the PF government brought into the District which were never there.

The former minister appealed to the electorate to vote for the PF candidate for continuity in development.

    • I am not aware of HH cancelling any rally. But I have counted Edgar failing or abandoning 6 rallies so far. And some late or just 10 minutes speeches.
      PF is in total disarray.

    • London eye

Zambians do not change governments like underwear , we changed in 1991,2011 and will change in 2026.

There you have it , any thing else ?

    • No he showed respect to Tonga Chiefs, whether they meant to frustrate him or not is up to you to answer but he showed respect to the traditional leaders. Let’s wait and see, elections are on Tuesday and the clock is ticking. Hold your fire we will soon know who among the 11 would have carried the day. On another front, the traditional leaders could have been seeking a golden parachute from the in coming President, you know these people are smart enough to read the writings on the wall.

    • It will be sad to see the disorganised rule this country. God forbid. What emergencies seem to be crossing Lungu’s. campaign schedule during the election period? Surely, it can be health. issues or rigging matters!!!!

    • @1.5 Robin,
Thank you, but are the people of Kalabo responsible for this bye-election or the change of government in the past? Why haven’t you said anything similar to this about other regions?

    • @1.4, HH is a loafer. He is free to galavant. EL is doing a lot of meetings with Chiefs, diplomats and fellow politicians to chalk out growth agenda the moment he takes hold of the reign of power. He is a sincere leader. He is seeking help and guidance from all well meaning quarters. He is not pretending to “Know it all” High Headed.

  1. That’s total lie. Stop ubufi. There is no way chiefs can detain him in Southern Province and he fails to take an opportunity to sale himself at this last hours to the electorates. The man is not feeling well. Sources from Office of the President (OP) has revealed that Mr. Edgar Lungu complained of stomach pains last evening and has opted to rest from busy schedule.

Stop lying and which chiefs have detained him in Southern Province. Lungu is ailing and his handlers are not doing him good by keep on moving him from place to place. He is better off remains as a minister than the strenuous job of a president.

Who doesn’t know that this is a busy period for all candidates? Learn to be truthful ba PF.

    • Iwe sakalanyongo @ ngalende Lukuku teka bola panshi. It is the Tonga chiefs that have invited EL to their meeting. They are very impressed with his message of continued development. They have seen what the PF has done in the province and are begging Edgar not to abandon them at the last hour. They know that the promises from their own Ngombe Ilede are full of air and will not bring them development. Edgar being a well brought up son of the soil decided to give them a chance to hear their frustrations with Ngombe Ilede.

    • VIVA ECL care state house sir let it look more beautiful pls your exerellence rule this coutry under the ten commandments.

  2. Lets us see if hh they call him mosses. If at all he can win this handicap match. Upnd is not that bad just that their leader is not sellable .No smile. No sence of humor. Red colors.

  3. Ba PF who told you that development will not continue if PF is kicked out. Don’t cheat abantu that you are the only ones who can develop this country. After all the money you are using is not PF money but from the government coffers. Any president who will take over on 20th January 2015 will continue with the development. Listen from all presidential candidates they have plan for mother Zambia. Stop cheating abantu that PF should continue with the development. Any party is capable of developing this country.

Let the people vote wisely and choose a candidate who is credible. Don’t cheat people. After all you have over borrowed so much.

    • Sakalanyongo @ Ngalade Lukuku . Please know that PF was bold enough to take serious steps to develop all parts of this country. Remember on KAUNDA and SATA did this type of development in a very short time. This is what EL will do to complete what King Cobra started. It takes brave men to take brave descisions. Your Ngombe Ilede has no capacity to develop this country. This is not Kantemba mwana. It is a country for GOD’s sake please!!!

    • YEH! BUT SOME OF THE PARTY PRESIDENTS ARE JUST VISUALIZING WHILE PF IS PROMISING TO CONTINUE WHAT THEY ALREADY STARTED. HH HS NEVER EVEN BEEN A COUNCILLOR WHILE EDGAR HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL PORTFOLIOS AS WELLS AS ACTING PRESIDENT. EVEN WHEN BEING INTERVIEWED FOR A JOB THEY ASK FOR ONE’S EXPERIENCE. HH HAS NO EXPERIENCE.

    • @@Peter

It is your kind of thinking that is driving HH’s quest to make education free. You have no concept of logic, my friend. Improve your analytical skills ba bwana. You are not making sense.

Name me one counselor who has done anything noteworthy that HH cannot do?

      Need I say more??

  4. Tribal politics has taken a centre stage in UPND. Imagine: Police HQs – Junior officers instructed to use Tonga or English not Bemba or Nyanja. UNZA and CBU – Tonga speaking congregate together and vow to flush non-Tongas in senior positions when HH win. Mazabuka – Non-Tonga speaking told to prepare for massive evictions when HH wins. At one famous Monze lodge – insults are hauled at TV stories about Guy Scott and Lungu. In Kalomo, Gwembe, Sinazongwe and Choma – Non Tongas on Commercial Farmers on high alert, told to prepare for living hell – dismissals when HH wins. Chilanga – some civil servants openly campaigning to deal with non-Tonga bosses. Tonga Hegemony is policy of UPND remember Sejani statement over 10 years. Tribalism is endemic in UPND

    • Choice between a wife and a prostitute? Read Prof. Saasa’a analogy, will you go for a Prostitute? “My realistic view is: Zambians are very notorious and extremely good at rejecting a political leader who cannot deliver,” said Prof Saasa. “But we have also broken the record of not knowing how to replace a bad leader. We know how to diagnose a problem but we don’t know how to diagnose the solution. So, when you are replacing something that has failed, it’s always better to look for something better than what you are replacing. It’s like someone who divorces their wife because they were caught in an adulterous situation and then they go and replace her with a prostitute who goes out every night.” Prof. Oliver Saasa – See more at: *****

    • You can lie all you want @ kaka kongwa, who doesn’t know that Tongas are peaceful people. This is why you find all Zambian tribes in Southern province living peacefully.
Stop painting the blackness of your heart on innocent peace loving Zambians.

    • There is only one way to stop this tribal problem in in the minds of the Tongas. We should send 10,000 Bemba men into this province. The men will marry 4 tonga women each and ensure each one has 12 children from each of the Tonga women. The process must be repeated over 5 years. In the 6th year this problem will start to vanish.

    • Total bulls, your statistics are a total fraud designed to alarm illiterates like you.
Tonga this Tonga that! Come down to real issues, the Tonga stereotype and labeling cannot hold any longer. ” The PF center cant hold anymore….things have fallen apart”!

    • Lying is bread and butter of PFools. Who says Bemba is the official language in Zambia anyway? Bemba is just a language of thieves.

    • Much as I don’t like PF I don’t agree with these tribal politics that UPND is practicing. HH needs to condemn this type of behavior. I know of an SDAchurch that has stopped giving sermons in any other language other than Tonga. These are supposed to be Christians who are supposed to be all inclusive. It is worrying! HH in the same vein that you give ultimatums to the opposition stand up tall and condemn your party for practicing tribal politics! Shame!

  5. THERE ARE FEWER VOTERS IN KALABO. EL SHOULD NOW COME BACK TO LUSAKA TO REST. INFACT CAMPAIGNING IN KALABO AND IN ANY PART OF THE COUNTRY AT THIS ELEVENTH HOUR IS SHEER WASTE OF RESOURCES. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE STOUNCHLY UPND. THE FEW VOTES TO BE GAINED FROM THERE WILL NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE TO EL. THE PF HAS ALREADY WON.

    • No resting. He shall take a march with PF leadership from Kitwe to Lusaka and hold rallies in Matendere, Matero and Pope Square in Longacres. Zambia shall be saved. Hon. Lungu to His excellency Lungu for better Zambia for all, irrespective of which tribe one belongs to, irrespective of how poor or rich you are and irrespective of what denomination you belong to. Viva EL

  6. The fact is PF does not give a fk about kalabo. It is a worst of time. Kalabo villagers can vote for HH but HH will still lose.

    • @ PanAfricanist,

Are you confirming vote rigging then? Kalabo has a large population that can actually cause the tables to turn. In a true and fair election, every vote counts and in a system like ours, a single vote can make a huge difference.

  7. Desperation is a terrible thing. The word has going through like wild bush fire regarding Lungu’s humility, humbleness and wisdom in the Chiefs fraternity. Never ib the history of Zambia political history has the chiefs in every place elder has visted has the respective Chiefs made to feel honoured in the manner Lungu is submitting to them and moreover courting them to participate and advise him on National or personal matters. One Chief in the Western Province heard telling the Litunga how Edgar has touched and wish our people can embrace that humility and respect for our seniors in our communities. So it wouldn’t be surprising for the Chiefs in SP to want to prove this first hand and witness first hand . In essence the Traditional Chiefs are an integral players to sustainable…

  8. My friends dont wonder why lungu and his culprits has called off the rally.this man has run out money he had borrowed from boko harm so he is apllying for some money again.hahahahahahahahahahaaaa poor president who wants to be rich for the presidency. pf haas failed already

  9. There can never be any sustainable National Development in the absence o the recognisation and participation of the traditional Leaders has they are the Principle and Custodians. Zambia doesn’t need a Messiah with the individualistic attitude but a team player….a servant leader to creat an enbling environment and allow the citizenry to form and operate cooperatives as a model to participate in the National Development. Whilst all this is playing out in should anchor on our traditions and customs hence the importance of the Chiefs.
It’s also one of the failure of Late Sata’s Presidency, a wrong Lungu is rectifying

  10. @Family man. Your ideas are a total hogwash, bizarre and evil. Thats what happens when you run out of ideas. No Zambian mother, Bemba or Tonga can go for that kind of theory. Your MP Miles Sampa ‘proposed’ it in parliament not too long ago.
Sata sent him to the province as minister to carry out that, but he saw how honorable all our Zambian mothers are. They are not merchandise, they are the custodian of life.
However your relatives the Lord resistant Army in Uganda and the Nyamulenges in the Congo use rape as a weapon of war. May be you can be their consultant!

  11. Ok will be there tomorrow . Lungu has already won this election . HH-UPND have lost it terribly after spending so huge amount of Kwacha. Any way they can try 2016 which they will again lose.

Peace and prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  12. @Hachiti, in life, business or politics you need to pririotise. Agree every vote count but it does not mean you need to campaign in every village of Zambia.
I repeat PF does NOT give a fk about Kalabo. It is like Up-n-Down campainging in Mansa and expecting to win Mansa. That won’t happen.

If Up-n-Down can cancel a rally in mansa I will applaude it for being strategic and smart. But as we all know being ‘Smart and Strategic’ is not something you find in same sentence with Up-n-Down.

  13. Come 20 UPND will be in tears. This bantustan party is no where near the PF of 2006. By that time a PF was not as big as now.
I dont see a tribal leader winning this elections, sorry

  14. After the events and “endorsements” of the past week the die is now cast, all is clear about next week’s election.
The election is all about tribe, i.e. Bembas vs Tongas. What we wait to hear when the results are announced on Wednesday is the extent to which the other tribes are aligned to either tonga or Bemba. The result is therefore heavily dependent on the relative populations of these two tribes and their allies.
All the efforts of the past 90 days were nullified in the past few days by Munkombwe. The denials of Dipak were dented by HH who told good old Daniel that his endorsement would be put to good use! The tribal sentiments were never too far below the surface despite the splendid window dressing. Talk about overconfidence and shooting oneself in the foot in the last minute!

  15. FOR UPND IT IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. BUT FOR EL, THE BATTLE IS ALREADY WON. HE CAN DO AWAY WITH SOME RALLIES. HE NEEDS TO RELAX, TAKE IT EASY AND JUST REST.

  16. PF has won by 68% and they are busy sending invitation letters to guests. whatever the situation lungu is a comfirmed next president. see you 2016

  17. ANOTHER AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITY SNUBBED BY LUNGU. THE TRUTH IS HE DOES NOT CARE FOR THE POOR AND MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES. ALL HE CARES ABOUT ARE THE URBAN CENTERS WHERE HIS USUAL DRINKIN PLACES ARE LOCATED. LUNGU HAS NO MESSAGE FOR THE FARMING COMMUNTIES AND HE THINKS HE DOES NOT NEED THEIR VOTE.
    PLEASE REMEMBER OUR FARMERS.
SAVE OUR FARMERS VOTE HH! !!!

  18. STOP devilshing one tribe,Tonga are not bad people,am from the east but all my life tongas have been my best friends,i have not seen this tribal thing you people talk about .blame munkonbwe but not tongas

  19. #wawa, what you say is correct, at family or micro level. Unfortunately at national level this “only a tonga for president” thing is too deeply sensitive to brush away just like that. Unfortunately Munkombwe is a tonga and spoke as a tonga, and unfortunately HH seems to agree with Munkombwe. UPND could do without such language at this critical hour, as Chief strategist has rightly put it.
Seems the crowds have got to the heads of UPND leaders and they lost their guard. If they lose this one, surely UPND will never come this close again in this generation, might as well disband.

The Muchelekas and Mutatis of this world must be disappointed and certainly will not be there for UPND again.

  20. Although I don’t live in Kalabo, could President Lungu make his first visit as Republican President to Kalabo?

This will be very honourable and heart warming.

  21. you guys it good that you have accepted deaft instead of embarrasing your selves both in western province and southern better rush to lusaka but you will find nothing for you apart from town soweto market i said it and am still saying pf died with king cobra this time around its viva hh and upnd.whatever you say it will be used againest you in the court of bollot boxes on 20 january 2015 enough of lies bi pf sorry for that.

  22. Edgar, after your absence at the debate I very kindly imparted to you the wisdom of turning up, and that 90% of success is turning up.

Well you don’t really want this do you? It’s really Eoopy Poopy pushing you, it’s clear to see!
