MMD spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda says former president Rupiah Banda should repent and stop causing dis unite in the former ruling party.
Nakachinda said the MMD respected Mr Banda but its disappointed with the manner he has carried himselfto support the PF.
” We respected the big man but what he has done is bad for our party and we pray that he can repent. He has a right but he is not showing appreciation to the party that made him president,” Nakachinda said in Kitwe today.
” I hope that he will realise that what he is doing is wrong. However, as MMD we still confident that the party under Dr Mumba will come out strong and win the 2016 general elections. Our structures are still intact and people still have faith in the MMD, so we encouraged by the massive following we have,” he said.
Nakachinda said the MMD is going through a branding process and soon the party will again be back to its original form.
He charged that the way President Lungu is governing the country leaves much to desire.
” We are watching what is happening and very soon we will tell the Zambian people what we stand for. The people of Zambia have confidence in our party President because of his tested leadership,” he said.
Meanwhile Nakachinda said the MMD is not moved with the nullification of its Masaiti parliamentary seat.
He said the MMD will work hard to enusre that it returns the seat.

It is reckless and unpatriotic of MMD members to think Nevers can add value to the former ruling party. Today any bye-election MMD seat goes into will be nothing but an officiating transfer of that seat to the ruling PF and UPND. In 2016, should MMD tear its constitution that demands a convention being held every 5 years which is due this year, MMD will be completely wiped out from parliament and wards. Instead, it will be a shell of its past no different from Nevers’ other failed projects such as NCC and Victory ministries. Nevers is just a noise chatterbox and not a leader. What is this repent blah blah thing you are talking about. Ever heard of former Secretary of State General Collin Powell a hardcore republican passionately supporting Obama of the DNC?

“MMD loses Masaiti seat”
THE Supreme Court has upheld a High Court judgment which nullified the election of MMD Masaiti member of Parliament (MP) Michael Katambo.
This is in a case in which Mr Katambo appealed to the Supreme Court against the nullification of his election by the High Court on ground of electoral malpractice.
Supreme Court judge Gregory Phiri, in a judgment read on behalf of judges Elizabeth Muyovwe, Marvin Mwanamwambwa, Florence Mumba and Muyinda Wanki, said the High Court did not err in its findings that Mr Katambo was not duly elected MP.
Mr Justice Phiri found the election of Mr Katambo as null and void as it was marred with election malpractice.

In a country of almost 15 million voters with 1.5 million people casting votes and former ruling party hardly 4 years in the opposition gets 15,000 votes when a junior opposition party UPND gets 700K votes means MMD has a very useless candidate in MMD. There is no moral, scientific or political reasons to condone Nevers to remain ruining the party. You have lamentably failed baba. He has no political capital, following or moral platform. Its time to leave MMD to its members. Sata had many of his members called rebels among them Chitika and Machungwa yet he kept rowing PF from a 1 member of parliament party to victory. Because our law demands that a former President will subsist on taxe payers money after leaving plt 1 and stay out of politics, RB has broken the law as it stands.

If Nakachinda believes that by insulting RB he will get symphathy he has it all wrong. MMD is in dire straits because of people like him who have been advising Mumba wrongly. Had Mumba and Hakainde accepted RB as a candidate in the January 2015 election the story would be different today. And even him Nakachinda possibly could have been made somebody. For now he will just continue to be a praise singer for a useless leader. Isnt he surprised that people like Muhabi who supported Nevers so much abandoned him when they worked and saw with him at close range? Well, in the way things took place, Dr Mumba won a court case preventing Banda from running as candidate.
Banda was left out in the cold. This call from Dr Mumba is a weak attempt at patching a broken relationship.
There was not much room for both Dr Mumba and Banda in the last election. All in all it was good Dr Banda was able to take part in the elections through another party to prevent egos clashing.
Hand on heart Dr Mumba, would it have worked, since both of you failed to agree in mediation?
