Zambia stay put on FIFA rankings

Zambia has stood still for another month on the latest FIFA ranking released today.

Honour Janza’s side remain at number 60 in the World after another inactive month since their group stage elimination from the 2015 Africa Cup in January.

Zambia are number 17 in Africa and the second highest ranked team from the Cosafa zone after South Africa who are at number 55.

Sandwiched between Zambia and South Africa are fallen African kings Egypt at number 58.

Rwanda, who visit Zambia to play a friendly on March 29 in Lusaka, are just below Chipolopolo at number 64 in the World.

Rounding up the CAF top eleven are Algeria in 18th place, African champions Cote d’Ivoire at number 20 while losing finalists Ghana are 24th in the world.

Tunisia, Senegal, Cape Verde, Nigeria, Guinea, DR Congo, Cameroon and 2015 Africa Cup hosts Equatorial Guinea are 25th, 36th, 38th, 41st, 44th, 47th and 50th respectively.

  1. They stay put because they haven’t played any games since the rankings were last updated…don’t waste space on rubbish if you have no stories.
