Patriotic Front (PF) National Youth Chairman Chishimba Kambwili has urged party members in Eastern Province to intensify the mobilisation of members ahead of the 2016 general elections.

And Mr. Kambwili has asked PF members who have presidential ambitions not to challenge President Edgar Lungu so that he can complete his two term in office.

Speaking when he met PF officials in Nyimba, Mr. Kambwili said President Lungu deserves two terms in office as president before being challenged.

Mr. Kambwili, who is also Minister of Information and Chief Government Spokesperson, has further asked party members in Eastern Province to be the first people to endorse Mr. Lungu as a sole candidate for 2016.

He said the 2016 presidential election campaigns should start from the Eastern Province where President Lungu comes from.

He said the people of Eastern Province were lucky to have produced two presidents in the 50 years of the country’s independence.

Mr. Kambwili, who admitted having presidential ambitions, stated that the people of Eastern Province should not be deceived by some officials who want to challenge President Lungu in the 2016 election because doing so would be costly for the party.

He said his fellow PF presidential hopefuls should wait until 2021 when President Lungu will constitutionally vacate office after completing his two terms in office.

The PF National Youth Chairman said President Lungu was so far working very hard to ensure that all the developmental projects that were initiated by the late President Michael Sata were completed.

He said many projects in various sectors of the economy were being implemented in Eastern province which he said will help the party to easily win the 2016 general elections.

And Nyimba District PF Chairperson Jackson Sakala told Mr. Kambwili that the mobilization of the party at grassroots level was going on smoothly.

Mr. Sakala said currently, the party was engaged in ward elections adding that it will soon be holding elections at district and constituency levels.

He has meanwhile commended government for embarking on various infrastructure development projects in Nyimba and other districts in Eastern Province.

He however appealed to the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) to consider speeding the process of electrifying villages in the area.

He told the Minister that the power utility company has been delaying to connect power in some village because it has no poles.

Mr. Kambwili is on a familiarization tour of media houses in Eastern Province.

  1. Kambwili, u r bosaling too much. Its tribal to start counting how many president have come from which province. Bembas ve had mo – 3 from 5. Soon Tongas will justify why ONLY their uselss HH shld b the next president. You shld control yo mouth. Zed shld b looking at a Zambian as a Zambian, not from this or that province.

    • Kambwili you have fouled on this one bwana. President Lungu does not hail from eastern but cb in chimwemwe. Your talk sounds more tribo. I would rather western pro to be the first to endorse him.

    • MCS was also endorsed for 2016. So, it’s the same scheme of things unfolding…..endorsements to underplay party members’ democratic rights. Just waiting to see who’s leaving PF next year

  2. Kambwili the tough talking and no nonsense guy is aware that his stay in a govt post is well assured as long as Lungu is in office. But he should let willing contestants to challenge Lungu in the primaries as a sign of democracy. A democratic endorsement will leave no crack in PF as opposed to the acclamation endorsement.

    • @kenya the convention in kabwe 2014 elected Lungu for 2 terms. Currently there is no presidential vacancy til 2021.

    • Zambians let’s not cheat ourselves! Even in the USA a sitting President is never challenged by members of his own party! If it is for UPND HH has been a candidate for so many years with no challenger! So let Edgar who is even a sitting president stand in 2016! Others can wait for 2021!!!!

  3. Kambwili is becoming a problem now, too much talking and I don’t know may be he is trying to be heard by the president. Shut up !!!!!!!!!!

  4. DOES LUNGU COME FROM EASTERN PROVINCE? SOTHOSE PROVINCES WHICH HAVE NEVER PRODUCED A PRESIDENT SHOULD NOT SUPPORT PF? IS THIS NOT TRIBAL,REGIONALISM AND NEPOTISM FROM GOVERMENT?

  5. Rubbish-Lungu’s leadership is not even inspiring even to *****s. Only corrupt people like Rupiah and Katema who ensured that his dull young brother who is at ZRA was given a job at ZAFFICO as Head Human Resources are benefitting from Lungu’s rule.

Dr Katema, what was the use of ZAFFICO conducting interviews when you knew that you would bull doze your way to have your brother ‘selected’ at all cost? What you did with the MD is not a secret as most people at ZAFFICO know that you forced your dull brother on the Company from ‘shortlisting’ to final ‘selection’ after replacing the candidate who was duly selected-and you call Zambia a Christian nation with such actions??

  6. Forget about me hh to lose again
hh will never be president of Zambia. Ask guy Scott.
Scott made conditions easy for hh in last elections but hh missed a goal in an un-manned goal post. Instead he scored in his own balls amatole which are still licking puss.
The mood in the country is for Edgar Lungu for President up to 2021.
hh will be considered in 2037 when he loses 10 times. But he will be over 75 years old and useless.
he will be voted when uses a slogan that he has no vision
