The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cleared Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs Kaizer Zulu of bribery allegation amounting to US$ 200,000 from a Chinese contractor.

ACC spokesperson Timothy Moono disclosed the clearance of Mr Zulu in Lusaka.Mr Moono said the ACC conducted preliminary investigations into the allegations that Mr Zulu received a bribe of US$
200,000 from Mr Zang,a Chinese contractor as an inducement for him to facilitate a meeting between the said contractor and Republican President.

Mr Moono said the ACC has concluded the investigations into the matter as the allegations have not been substantiated and the matter has since been closed.

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) Executive Director Goodwell Lungu said his organisation interacted with Mr Zang who complained bitterly that the allegation was false and that at
no time did he offer such a huge amount to Mr Zulu.

In a letter to the ACC Director General, Mr Lungu said Mr Zang’s interaction with TIZ was to find out how he could remedy the negative publicity around his name on the matter.
Mr Lungu said Mr Zang confirmed with TIZ having never offered Mr Zulu the said bribe. He said TIZ fully supported the ACC in investigating any public official even sitting senior government officials.

  1. The ACC in its current form is corrupt like Edgar Lungu and a probe will be instituted to invest its corruption.

    • I am still waiting to hear about the clearance of Mr. Wynter Kabimba with regards the Trafigura oil deal. You ldiots at ACC just let him off the hook without any investigations.

    • IT SEEMS IN ZAMBIA IF IT DOESN’T GO CERTAIN PEOPLE’S WAY THEN IT IS CORRUPT. SEEMS THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD “CORRUPT” OR “CORRUPTION” IS EVOLVING AND CAN ADAPT DEPENDING ON WHOSE SIDE THE BALL IS ROLLING..UPND, THE POST, PF, FDD, EVEN THE SO-CALLED “CHURCH”, EACH HAVE THEIR OWN DEFINITIONS OF “CORRUPTION”

    • @Mervis, do not behave like the expected Zambian short-minded lot! There is precedence in the past that some politicians have had investigations instituted after falling out of favor even when they have been cleared. Let’s not behave as though we are not dealing with mature opinions backed up by observed trends and patterns.

  2. Zambia is just a disgrace now. Even the reporting is a little dodgy to boot. What are Kaizer’s prior misdeeds and what were the grounds for his firing? Sometimes it is the perceptive accumulation that renders someone unemployable in such positions so any rumor tends to make people like him a liability. I will not be surprised if upon his final fall from grace all hell breaks loose on him in corrupt practices circles.

  3. Did someone have a hand in this. Bapompwe! RB has come bak for more this time with his tribesman using the very SATA’s vehicle (or Ubwato) that ousted him. He is bad and vicious and he is not leaving any stones unturned time making Chiluba’s plunder seem like nicking a corn ice cream from an ice cream vendor van by naughty school boys. The man is ferocious and will be at the cinema near you (His sons will not be directly involved this time, one is on the fence and the other has uncertain circumstances due interference by un desirable forces; THE POST, ZWD AND THE ZAMBIAN PUBLIC). HENRY will only be seen remotely and rarely in the siege.

  4. The Anti-corruption Commission in its current state is toothless. The lady Director General should be smoked out of the office. A lot of cases reported to her office are swept under the carpet. Worse still the officers connive with the people reported to solicit some cash not to proceed with the matter. I have a number of issues reported to them but they have not reacted. Or put it this way its a rotten Agency which does not inspire the people of Zambia. The Director General is just there to earn her living and not work. She has investigative officers who are incompetent. To get the matter move the one reporting has to bribe the officers. You wonder the caliber of officers employed to investigate corruption issues. They lack the necessary skills to do their jobs.

  5. Need I say more,
the above comments have summed it all!
    however…umulandu taubola
ACC do not worry, you will conduct the investigations when sense returns to Zambia…

  6. This is what is destroying Zambia. No law for some or they’re above the law. This is not development and will lead cause country to plummet further. A bunch of vision-less twits with no leadership skills in it to make a quick buck for themselves. Shame on all those under Edgar Lungu’s mindless vision and all corrupt individuals.

  7. THE ZAMBIA CORRUPTION CADRE CON-MISSION, – aka Anti corruption Commission has spoken again, & we are supposed to listen. “This Con-mission” is more Corrupt, & compromised than the P.F. crooks they are supposed to be investigating.
Please stop issuing statements, & just Shut Up & Eat!!!

  8. Neither surprising nor inspiring!! The inept ACC is there to clear EVEN well known corrupt Govt officials giving!! Let us just disband the useless ACC body – it serves no purpose at all!!

  9. ACC is a toothless organ and it is their to chew Taxpayer’s funds. I have never Heard any case taken to them and beat the win. Imagin people talked about Fred Membe, Mutembo Nchito and others that they plundered Zambian money but it is the same organ that cleared them during late Sata’s reign and today Meembe and Nchito are now answering court cases. Is it not shameful on ACC part?
