Police officers shielding criminals

Police officers
Police officers

Dear Editor

We want to bring to the attention of the public that some Police officers at Nangweshi police post in Sioma district of western province are shielding the criminals in the case of a murder which occurred between 20th and 21st June, 2015.

From the 21st June,2015 when the body of the deceased (Emmanuel Nakanda) was found in the Zambezi river, no single arrest has been made despite the office knowing the suspects whom they have left to enjoy life, despite a life having been lost.

Our greatest disappointment as the family is that, we have lost confidence in some of the officers at the Nangweshi. We had some meetings with the provincial office at Police, but the efforts seem to be in vain. Sadly enough is that a case of missing animals was reported at Kaanja Agric camp and police recovered the animals promptly.

But for the case of the murder nothing is happening. Which is more valuable a cow or human????????

The questions we are now asking are:

  • Why should people trust the police officers who have been entrusted to offer security to the citizens of Zambia but are seen to not take keen interest in their job.We see that they are promoting criminals.
  • Why are suspects not in custody? Their being outside of prison is compromising the investigation. Do they mean they can only get serious unless they are paid or not?
  • We are appealing to Police command at provincial and Police Headquarters to intervene in this case by providing independent police officers to conduct the investigations. If this kind of attitude is not attended to, crime shall continue at Nangweshi and country as whole as they criminals shall not face the wrath of law.

We want justice to prevail regardless of who is related to who , what inclination that person belongs to in society. Crime is crime.

  1. Family members, please take the law in your own hands since you know the suspects and lets see what happens next..

This country has gone to the dogs..

    PF Zwaaaaaa!

  2. This is the same all over the country, including in Mulobezi where Davis Chama shot Mushaukwa. Up to now nobody has been charged in that case. It is really every man for himself, like in the wild west Era. Please just use karavinas to sort out the murderer.

  3. Story not clear. Has postmoterm been carried out to ascertain That it was murder? Where those people seen throwing the nigger in the river? Let the police do their work please

  4. Zambia Police always shields criminals and shares proceeds with them. I learned this 11years ago when thieves broke into my house.

    • Sorry about that.

Quite irritating the more i think of it,….

      What’s wrong with this country?!?!?

  5. @MUSHOTA
IS that what you can tell a family in pain of losing someone? Even if they are wrong it’s better you find civilised language than telling them to go away just like that. The other comment you passed on PRESIDENT LUNGU was also annoying. You said Zambia needs a Bemba president. MUSHOTA MUSHOTA tawakwata amano. If this is what it means to be educated as you claim you are then let alone be educated. You are a devil of a woman with evil mind continually

  6. To the dogs the country has gone uuuuuuuuuh. I mean the President should look at this, lest people start trusting JUJU, that may also be targeted at him. people, people, be self resourceful and correct the situation. WE ARE ALL IN ANGUISH country wide. Anything to do with murder is always receiving very weak response, WHY? It is because a lot of money change hands beween the culprits and police officers, if not even the judges.
