Amanda Sibeso Wamunyima is expected to represent the state of Florida in the Miss America pageant that will take place on August 26 at the Curtis Theatre, Brea, California.
The pageant, which has attracted 38 contestants from different states of the United States, is run by Susan Jeske, who has been involved in pageantry for over 29 years as a competitor, judge, and pageant director.

Amanda, who attended Kabwe High School but is now resident in Florida, Orlando, is thrilled to represent the state in the pageant.
This is the third time she is making a shot at the pageant.
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again. Third time is a charm. The road to the national crown is officially in full force. I am honoured to represent the state of Florida in the upcoming Miss America Pageant,” she posted on her Facebook page.
The biography of Amanda on the Miss America website describes her as a Zambian loyalty.
“Amanda is Zambian royalty – daughter of Princess Alice Kaiko Kabuku and Brigadier General Erix Wamunyima of the Lozi people. She is a model, actress, entrepreneur, CNN iReporter and TV host. She is a humanitarian, founder of ieEmbrace organisation that helps provide medical supplies to hospitals in underserved nations.
“She started her first business at 18, and often travels to corporate events with network marketing company Solavie Mobile. She is looking forward to volunteer with the American Red Cross during her reign, raising awareness through her We Are United programme,”

In a recent interview she had this to say ‘ I own Miss Zambia USA and looking for girls age 20-28 to take part in the pageant, I have opened it to girls in Zambia for the first time, so far I’m working with 2 from Lusaka that I’m mentoring. My goal is to train a girl that will win Miss World or Miss Universe for Zambia soon.’

  1. Miss America and Miss USA are two different pageants

Miss USA is owned by Donald Trump and goes on to compete in Miss Universe. Miss America is about scholarships.

    • If this girl doesnt have sex appeal, your sexual orientation requires serious examination. You’re probably a pervert (homosexual).

  2. Thanks Numbian, Princes for the differentiation but let us rejoice with her for her achievements. This is what we need to hear and not Zambian women being arrested for drugs because of their India and Nigerian boyfriends. She is Zambian and American. Let politicians with no vision see the value of Zambians having dual citizenship.

  3. You LT are are becoming irrelevant like PF. Why did you delete the comment that I saw by someone saying that we need to rejoice with what Amanda has achieved? I challenge you to paste back the comment and let Zambians judge. It is good that we now have a good number of Zambian blogs and not just LT

    • Give credit where it is due. This girl comes from Kabwe so I wonder how you will inspire those girls participating in the Miss Independence to aspire for greater things with your negative attitude. Get a life!!!

  4. This is the MS. America Pageant, not the the Miss America or the Miss USA. It is part of a scam pageant series that does nothing for the contestants. Check out their website closely, the prizes are little to nothing, no scholarship, no prize money just a title that means nothing.

  5. Suntwe iwe She is nowhere near fat and she has facial beauty. She is so slim no Zambian man would go for her because African men want emphasised curves.

  6. Well Done!!!

Despite what all these “Kolwe’s say!!

You have done us proud and you are truly an ambassador.
    YOU GO GIRL!!!

  7. Everyone who posted a negative comment should be ashamed. I feel ashamed claiming you as my fellow country men. Someone from your own country gets recognized bringing your country into a positive spotlight and all you do is bring us down and make us look foolish and uncivilized.

    Please change your ways!
