Zambia along with three other African countries will benefit from the DFID-CADF Partnership.

The Partnership will aim to increase exports and sustainable incomes for poor people through greater integration into global value chains in manufacturing and agro-processing sectors. Another aim is to strengthen UK-China cooperation and generate knowledge and learning on approaches to trade related investment, aid for trade, responsible investment; and how these can be effectively integrated to support businesses, especially SMEs in Africa.

The China-Africa Development Fund (CADF) is one of the Eight Measures that were announced by the former Chinese President Hu Jintao at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2006. It is a fund that aims to support Chinese companies to develop cooperation with Africa and enter the African market. DFID is increasing its focus on economic development, including through its bilateral programmes with 18 African countries including Zambia, hence the partnership with China. The DFID-CADF partnership is based on the premise that UK and China share a common objective and growing cooperation to promote economic development and job creation in Africa.

The scoping and design phase of the DFID-CADF Partnership will focus on 4 pilot countries – Zambia, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Kenya. The activities under the programme will be identified in detail during the initial preparatory phase in consultation with the relevant authorities and business community in the four countries. This will include research into local priorities/strategies, market opportunities and domestic supply capacity; research into regulatory barriers; facilitating business partnerships with African firms and investors; building capacity of producers to address market requirements; maximising local job creation and facilitating access to trade finance, among other things. The DFID-CADF partnership will seek to leverage existing programmes and complement efforts with other cooperating partners in order to avoid duplication of effort.

His Excellency the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Mr.Muyeba Chikonde attended the ‘UK-China Collaboration for Investment Growth’ event where an MOU for UK-China Partnership for Investment and Growth in Africa was signed on Thursday, 22nd October 2015 at Lancaster House.

Councillor Economics Mrs Ikayi Mushinge and the First Secretary Trade Mrs Irene Chengo also participated in a roundtable focusing on investment in manufacturing and agriculture hosted by the department for International Development and China Africa Fund.

The event was also attended by the African Union Commission Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who highlighted Africa’s potential and applauded the PIGA initiative. Others in attendance were Rt. Hon. Justine Greening, Secretary of State for DFID; representatives from China Africa Development Fund; China International Contractors Association as well as Chinese, British and African firms; the Ethiopian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and diplomatic representatives from the four benefiting countries.

  1. ITS THE CHINA ”ONE ROAD ONE BUILT PROGRAMME” FIGHTING THE PETRO DOLLAR TRYING HARD TO TWIST BRITAIN WITH LITTLE LONGTERM IN IT FOR RESOURCE TARGETED AFRICAN COUNTRIES TO THE BENEFIT OF CHINA

OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET A BEST DEAL OUT OF IT

  2. Programs for “poor people” governed by selfish leaders who want to live like Kings with a bloated cabinet who charter a plane for $300,000 and keep the plane waiting for them for more than 7 days in NY which is not cheap and come back with nothing to show.

  3. Our EL went to China first to woo investors but alas, Up to now not a single investor has landed at KK airport, But when the Chinese president visited the UK deals where sealed with the Chinese companies even before he left the UK, Billions of contracts have been signed between the UK and China while our tourist EL said billions of investment will come out of his visit to China which no one has yet seen apart from PF supporters who can see things done in the spirit by their god EL and will support him no matter how many lies he tells.
