Zanaco bash Zesco but fail to kill champions party mood

Share

Zanaco stayed on course to finishing second after an emphatic 4-0 away win over defending champions Zesco United.

Zesco gave little resistance to Zanaco clearly still carrying a hangover from Wednesday league win celebrations after their 1-1 away draw at forest.

Zanaco went 3-0 into halftime when Fackson Kapumbu put them ahead in the 15th minute but four minutes later Boyd Musonda’s goal was ruled out for offside.

Moses Phiri hammered in the second in the 23rd minute and Musonda was rewarded for his hard work when his free kick beat Zesco goalkeeper Jacob Banda.

Phiri comp-leted his brace in stoppage time to hand Zesco their worst and third loss of the 2015 season.

Zanaco move to 60 points after their penultimate game if the season, six more than Power Dynamos who should they draw away at Nchanga Rangers on Sunday will see The Bankers confirmed as 2015 runners-up with a game to spare.

  1. Buffaloes would have worn the game had it not been poor oficiating by a chima referee who denied them a clear penault, thanx to chris katongo for scoring a brace

  2. ZESCO S WEAKNESSES CLEARLY EXPOSED 1. GoalKeeper Has Poor Judgement And Should Be Dropped From First Choice Chan Team And Zesco Team. 2.Middle Field Is Weak U Need Players Who Can Use Both Legs What Zanaco Did Was To Access Which Defender Can T Use Both Legs And Take The Ball There With Speed. You Need A goakeeper Like For Nkwazi Or Gbfc.

  3. All Power fans will gve support to ZESCO & ZANACO in next yrs CAF GAMES kulalumba bane teifwe twa lenga bukula bwenu!!

  4. Goalkeeper 4 Zesco leaves much 2b desired,he shudnt b first choice at CHAN.Moses Phiri of Zanaco deserves a place in both CHAN team and main national team.
