Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina says Zambia is looking forward to qualifying for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Zambia on Sunday advanced to the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers after beating Sudan 2-0 in Ndola to progress 3-0 on aggregate.

In a post-match media briefing, Lwandamina said he was confident that Zambia can qualify for the Word Cup.

“It was a very difficulty game especially that we were carrying a slender victory. After this hurdle now we have to sit and chat the way forward,” Lwandamina told reporters.

“Definitely we are all optimistic not just players. I am sure all Zambians are looking forward to go to the World Cup.

So we will try our level best and plan to achieve the objective of qualifying to the World Cup,” he said.

Twenty teams will go into the groups after the final second round matches are played on Tuesday.

  1. It is absolute wishful thinking for anyone to think Zambia can qualify for World Cup with the display shown on Sunday. Before the goals came, everyone was not happy with the way the team played and as such we shud not be blinded by those two goals. Zambia is far from being a team to watch. No doubt about that one.

  2. Comment: Give your Chipolopolo gaffer the necessary support. Zambia plays good soccer and there is abundant of rich talent. Am Zimbabwean, and the way soccer is run in Zimbabwe is amateurish vis-a-vis the way it is run in Zambia. Zambia will go all the way to the world cup.

    • Where are we on the Ranking table? Have you seen who is above you…this always happens you will be exposed soon…we have been here before.

  3. Zambian Can qualify to the World Cup with good preparations. We are not different from Ghana, Senegal Togo, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Cameroon, DR Congo etc. who have tested the WC Tournament. The way G. “Chicken Pie” Lwandamina is doing things, I think we can be among the five teams to qualify for the first time. I say this cos “Chicken has no jealous on players; only those with talent and hardworking are able to play.

  4. LIFE IS ABOUT DREAMS AND I SHARE LWANDAMINA’S DREAM.

ZAMBIAN TEAM IN RUSSIA IN 2018. FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NO DREAMS YOU WILL ALWAYS BE WHERE YOU WERE TODAY, YESTERDAY, AND TOMORROW.

    • Ba Monica we have been dreaming for toooooooooooooooooooooooo long. Its time to have practical plans that lead to our ambition. What concrete measures have we put up to show we want to qualify? We cant just be dreaming and dreaming and dreaming-If thats the case we should go to sleep.
