    • @Adage, why are you looking for chidren? Nabanya, butwaleni fye ku maule.
Read what Ba Ester wrote, I didn’t even know she can write.

    • 60% of early marriages are in Eastern province….. Why was the summit in Lusaka? Go where the problem is and hear from girls who are being married early, that is how you can come up with viable solutions.

    • THAT IS ALSO WHAT FIRST CAME INTO MY MIND, THOUGH NOT PARTICULARLY PIN-POINTING EASTERN PROVINCE. CHILD MARRIAGE IS IN RURAL AREAS WHERE MOST CHILDREN (BYS AND GIRLS) ARE DISADVANTAGED. SO, WHY WAS THE SUMMIT IN LUSAKA? ANYWAY THE ANSWER IS VERY EASY- IT WAS AS USUAL THE PARTY FOR THE ELITE AND ALREADY ADVANTAGED PEOPLE (AND THEIR CHILDREN) FROM BIG TOWNS. tHEY DID NOT WANT TO TAKE AND SHARE NICE FOODS AND DRINKS WITH THE POOR RURAL AREAS CHILDREN. THAT SUMMIT IN ITSELF CONSIDERING WHERE IT WAS HELD IS A FLOP. IT IS LIKE WHAT HAPPENS WITH PILOT SCHEMES- THEY ARE CONDUCTED WHERE THINGS ARE ALREADY WORKING- IN CITIES.

  1. When are other mortals going to ‘follow’us behind mwebantu? We have copied everything from foreign names, dress, attitude, culture and even languages, why dont others emulate us kanshi? Just what is wrong with our women when it comes to their HAIR? surely, surely even the much ‘educated’ and learned women; the likes of Prof Nkandu Luo wearing vima-wig sure? What is wrong with vi-duku, bendeka and/or other styles like the ones that were worn by our women freedom fighters, the likes of that fire-brand; Mama Kankasa?

    • @Nkhope Shinyenga. Comment right in place. When will all African women learn that natural is beautiful?! They all look like they have dead squirrels on their heads! Has anyone taken the trouble of learning where that hair comes from? Google it and you will surprised with what you put on your heads.

    • MAN YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME ON AFRICAN WOMEN ESTEEM. THEY WILL NEVER BE THEMSELVES. THEY ALWAYS WANT TO BEHAVE LIKE WHITES. AFRICAN STYLES OF PLAITING, COMBING HAIR ARE FABULOUS.

  2. It is general knowledge that early child marriages are rampant in rural areas. Social and moral issues at the local level in rural areas of Zambia are addressed more directly by village headmen/women and local chiefs. These are the key stakeholders in the fight against early marriages. But they were missing at the summit!!!

  3. Itombekla Zuma is a product of child marriage. Hence why she was quick of the mark to sign the protocol first! Going by her youthful butiful looks she would be half the age JZ. He Probably initiated her she was only 15, amongst his many other ipi tombis!

Regardless this is the best way forward to combat child abuse, extensivelely practised by polygamists in Southern province et.al

  4. This girl-child crusade has achieved very little – besides increase in divorces in marriages nowadays. As long as the boy-child is not part of the plan, you will continue wasting money on the girl-child. Girls do not become pregnant on their own. Rights for women have been suppressed by men – but you leave boys out of the equation!!!
