PRESIDENT Lungu will today meet the Eastern Province business community in Chipata to discuss agriculture, which is the region’s mainstay.
Special assistant to the President for press and public relations Amos Chanda told journalists in Lusaka yesterday that the discussions will be at a business dinner.

“The business community in Chipata requested the President, they wanted to discuss with him the vision of the party and Government regarding the policies in agriculture and fertiliser distribution, the issues that are affecting the agriculture industry, which is predominantly the backbone of the economy in Eastern Province,” Mr Chanda said.

He said President Lungu has agreed to meet the business community.

Mr Chanda has also said that President Lungu will tomorrow travel to Mpika in Muchinga Province where he will witness the consecration of a Catholic bishop.

The President will also launch several development projects, which he will either commission or grace at ground-breaking ceremonies.
The developmental projects are in Mpika, Shiwang’andu, Chinsali, Nakonde and Mbala.

The President returns to Lusaka on Tuesday after his tour of duty in the two provinces.

  1. Naikosa bane , mushipe. The Presidency comes and goes and time is flying and flying at a faster speed. the economy is falling apart with a 25Kg bag of mealie meal going at K120. Shall Zambia under President Lungu be another Zimbabwe before 11/08 ? let us wait and see. Chishimba Chimbwili na amba ukonda mambala.

    • Eastern province again? Surely this is campaigning now. Mukose saana guys this year kuya bebele.
      #LunguMustFall; Zambia Forward.
      Vote UPND and HH

  2. Our working president. Kindly give an audience to students too at CBU and UNZA over meal allowances. We already have a shortage of skills such as those of medical doctors and if the meal allowance is taken away it will negatively impact what you want to achieve in the health sector…………some of the students will find it hard to get someone to sponsor their meals and eventually will drop out of school. Remember that the ‘brightest’ of students are chosen to study such skills and we wouldn’t like to compromise on quality just because one can not afford meals.

    • School of medicine is not affected by the closure of the unis. It the criminals doing ifikwakwa at the great east road campus and cbu.

    • @HH Techilema, School of Medicine is affected as it gets students who complete their second year under Med quota from Natural sciences at UNZA.

    • Ati…..his tour of duty!

This clown has no idea of what his “DUTY” actually is! The economy is in a shambles, the Kwacha is worthless. Chikwanda thinks he can borrow his way out of incompetence with the IMF and growth is going NEGATIVE due to load shedding!

And this clown is travelling again at Taxpayers expense to campaign for re-election!

This is not “DUTY” , this is NEGLECT OF DUTY! Edgar should be seeing what he can do about the COLLAPSING ECONOMY but as usual the clueless clown is so dull he is unaware of the SH.I.T he has put Zambia into!

How can Zambians tolerate such stu.pidity and foolish.ness? It is beyond belief!

  3. Ba Lungu please reverse the decision of stopping giving students meal allowances. We are PF and we understand what most pipo are saying.pipo loves you but some decisions will cost u in august. We have relatives at Unza and CBU.And not everyone gonna find money for the students. The economic conditions in the country is not gud. Most pipo who have been to Unza have complained.we won’t manage to pay for these students allowances bcoz we never budget for this.Kaingu should be dropped. He is making our PF unpopular.I have friends and are now saying they won’t vote coz of this decision.they want PF to continue you seeem to be scared of Kaingu.Kaingu is killing PF with his emotions.Come on ba president don’t allow ministers to make wrong decisions twapapata.maybe u’re tired of being president…

    • @ Moscow
Kaingu said govt will continue paying tuition accommodation project and research and other allowances. It’s only meal allowance which will be replaced with loans. This is a best way of making students focused on education and not disturbing the academic calender. Believe me no one again is going to riot because of meal allowance. Have asked yourself why mulungushi and other public unis run smoothly?

    • Cracks in Mr perfect! moscovita you was blind now you can see that chagwa is not up to task, Pf die hards you are always escalating minor success that are bare minimums to chagwa and delegating failures to people that he hand picked himself, we don’t blame kaingu we blame chagwa you keep ignoring forewarning and advice.

  4. There goes the Lazy Bum Edgar again he just returned from there a couple months ago…hasn’t he got DCs and Ministers to handle this?

  5. Jay he worried and anxious about elections, he has gone to spy on his own wako ni wako to see if they still like him despite all these problems. Fool them with structures but l know he will be met with hungry starving.

  6. ALIMU PRESSURE MUDALA AYI…………he is always on the move trying to hard to prove a point but things keep falling apart…..now the wife will be heading west i guess…………..bakapanga lwusa abana?

  7. UPND cadres always ranting, now check this: PF has 20 MPs in Copperbelt province, 06 in Central, 04 in Eastern, 13 in Luapula, 13 in Northern, 10 in Lusaka, 09 in Muchinga, 02 in North western, 01 in Southern, 04 in Western and 08 nominated(90 in total), while UPND has 18 in Southern province, 04 in Central, 04 in North western, 04 in Western and 01 in Copperbelt rural(31 in total). So which party has a national character and likely to win in August! Keep on dreaming because dreams are free of charge.

    • ba manix you think all those will be retained by the PF, tough times ahead ba Sata MHSRIP peace had a hand he is no longer there ED does not have the mantle to get such impressive numbers
CB at least 4 will fall, central 3 will fall, eastern 3 will fall, luapula 1 will fall northern 3 will fall, lusaka 5 will fall, muchinga 1 will fall, north west all will fall, southern even that one will go, western 3 will fall am only being generous 4 years is a long time.

  8. @Manix:WELL SAID MY BROTHER!!these upnd dreamers and their tonga party are very irritating now!!IF U THINK THAT YOUR REGIONAL PARTY HAS WON,WHY CANT WE SEE HH IN STATE HOUSE?soon we will start hearing hh demading civil servants to receive him wherever he goes in Zambia as these bantustans have made him big headed!!I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN IRRITATING POLITICAL PARTY LIKE UPND WORLD OVER!!ELECTIONS ARE NOT WON BY DREAMING ONLINE BUT BY WORKING HARD THE WAY EDGAR LUNGU IS DOING!!HH HAS NO NATIONAL SUPPORT AND IT WILL BE VERY HARD FOR UPND TO WIN A SEAT IN LUSAKA AND COPPERBELT URBAN,WORSE STILL IN LUAPULA,NORTHERN,MUCHINGA AND EASTERN!!PF HAVE VERY HIGH CHANCES OF RETAINING POWER IN 2016-MARK MY WORDS!!

    • eddy why are you shouting uzapaisa muntu ati hard working its not him he will soon collapse the schedule is too much for him,he is going back to chawama

    • @eddy: calm down, it’s just politics. It’s obvious from your comment UPND are irritating you maybe because they are giving you sleepless nights. Why worry, if you are confident PF will win the August elections? It will not be you or me to decide who will win the August elections, but the registered voters will decide who they want to be Mp or President after August 11, 2016.

  9. Never mind crying babies come August we will vote for EL again in large numbers as i can see these pipo and chiefs from this province are trying by all means to see their man ku plot one.

  10. He has gone to Eastern to tell them about NegaNega formular. After all others practiced it during presidential by election.

  11. @Manix’s analysis is spot on and that is what is on the ground, last week I was in Luapula passed through Mansa, Mwense on my way to Kashikishi there is no HH there so I can assure you ECL is bagging Luapula even this time around. My next visit will be Northern after in two weeks time and I will update you when I come.

  12. PF Poor Finishers no wonder late presdo called them useless ! anyways going they must god’s time is here
