Collins Mbesuma has made the eight-man short-list for influential South African soccer magazine Kickoff’s 2015/16 Player of the Year Award.
The Mpumalanga Black Aces striker is enjoying his best form in years in the South African PSL and currently leads the top scorers chart with 13 league goals.
Mbesuma is one of two PSL imports on the list together with Zimbabwe and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat.
Others are Daine Klate and Moeneeb Josephs of Bidvest Wits, Keagan Dolly and Hlompho Kekana of Sundowns.
Ajax Cape Town striker Prince Nxumalo and Belgium-based midfielder Andile Jali complete the short-list.
Winner will be decided by readers via a website, mobile and Facebook poll with voting closing on May 20.
The winner unveiled in this June’s edition of Kickoff Magazine.
