Nkana out to protect lead

FAZ Super Division leaders Nkana will fight to preserve their stay at the top when they host Lusaka Dynamos on Sunday at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

Nkana are aware that their stay at the pinnacle of the table is being threatened by closest rivals Zesco United, Nkwazi and Nakambala Leopards who are closing in on the leaders.

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi’s side lead the table with 16 points from 6 matches while second placed Zesco had 12 points from four games prior to Saturday’s Week 8 match against struggling Mufulira Blackpool in Ndola.

Meanwhile, Nkana are favourites to win as they come up against a struggling Lusaka Dynamos side in front of their supporters in Wusakile.

Dynamos are third from the foot of the table with 5 points from seven matches.

The Lusaka side are smarting from a midweek 4-0 drubbing suffered at Zanaco while Nkana thumped Nchanga Rangers 4-2 in their last match played a fortnight ago.

The match kicks off at 15h00 and is scheduled to be broadcast on SuperSport.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Wanderers’ Week 8 match against Zanaco will be played on Monday at Shinde Stadium in Kantanshi, Mufulira.
