The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has disclosed that the 2016 provisional register of voters has a total of six million, seven hundred and ten thousand, four hundred and fifty five voters as at 5th May, 2016.
ECZ Public Relations Manager Crispin Akufuna in a statement made available to QFM News today says of the total number of voters, 3,375,009 are women, while 3,335,446 are male.
Lusaka province has the highest number of registered voters at 1,121,846, followed by Copperbelt with 1,038,434, Southern province with 812,590 and Eastern province with 777,379 registered voters.
Central province has 643,226 registered voters, Northern has 556, 855, Luapula has 511, 057, Western has 499, 873, while North Western province has 399,784 voters with Muchinga having 349,411 registered voters.
And Mr Akufuna says the provisional register of voters will be ready for inspection from 15th to 21st May,2016.

ECZ should not disenfranchise voters by removing their names from the voters roll by the time of voting like we are told happiness in a neighbouring notoriously for rigging elections. We don’t want riots after elections. Let people vote for their choice of candidates peacefully. We don’t want our votes stolen thru using pre-marked ballot papers. That Dubai Printer should not be allowed to print our ballots. Period!

One doesn’t need microscope to analyse that Edgar is winning again. Southern province will be swallowed by Eastern and Muchinga. Edgar needs to win just by a simple margin in Lusaka and Copperbelt. Central and Western they share, HH gets NW, Edgars will win in Luapula and Northern with a landslide. Where is HH? Simple analysis!!!!!!!

Quite amazed at how PF zealots are out of touch with reality.For them these numbers give them hope that one ECL will carry the day yet the demographics on the ground tell a different story.As Bill Clinton put it in 1992..Its about the economy stupid!!
How have the demographics changed? CB is still very much PF! I live in Ndola bwanamkubwa constituence to be specific so I wonder where UPND morons get their confidence because on the ground PF is still very strong. Instead of getting worried because of the figures which favour PF, they are busy conforting themselves that demographics have changed, you will cry in August.
How will Lungu win half of the country with the current conditions. last time he barely managed to win by a few votes. let’s not forget with these high numbers there is a possibility that people want change as Lungu is doing little to fix people’s problems.
Most of the registered voters on the copperblet and Lusaka are frustrated youths without jobs and miners who lost their jobs. Do you think a frustrated youth can vote for PF and jobless former miner can vote for PF. You must be seriously dreaming my friend. Even in Eastern Province farmers are crying. Anyway let us see what directions the campaigns will show.
Editor, please cross-check the provincial figures. My Chinese HP computer is telling me that the total is 5,142,670 voters and not what has been reported. Is Criss Akufuna or someone else hiding something?

Why is the figure for new registered voters from Southern Province reducing from what was previously reported? It was 205,259 in November 2015 and its now down to 195,129 doesn’t make sense.
