Zesco finally managed to breach Nsabata in 37th minute through midfielder Kondwani Mtonga who finished off his initial rebound that had come off the post.

Chansa was denied the chance to end the day with a brace in the 43rd minute when Zesco captain Ben Banh blocked his close-range shot.
