Share

THE construction of an industrial park in Chongwe at a cost of US$30 million has started.

The multimillion dollar industrial park will have a filling station, a milling plant, beverage maker and construction material manufacturing plant, among others.

Jiangxi Federation of Industry and Commerce president Lei Yuan Jiang is optimistic that the joint venture between Zhongyang Huajiang Construction Group Zambia and Huajiang Investment Limited will contribute to Zambia’s industrialisation process.

Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday, Huajiang Investment Limited chairman Zhang Jian said the investment environment in Zambia is favourable for Chinese enterprises to grow, adding that there are over 3,000 investors from Jiangxi Province staying in the country.

“ The establishment of Zhong yang – Huajiang Construction Group Zambia is as a result of the fruitful cooperation between the two organisations. The construction site has land coverage of 25 acres. The creation of our base will significantly enhance economic development in the surrounding areas and create over 300 jobs for the local people,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Lei said the creation of Zhongyang Construction Group Zambia will help strengthen the industrial base and create competition in the market.

  1. Zambia is favourable for Chinese enterprises to grow, adding that there are over 3,000 investors from Jiangxi Province staying in the country. Why do we need all these Chinese in our country? These are just from one province. To be poor as country makes you accept people (foreigners) that want to use your country to make money. These Chinese must be culled or they go back to their country. We are better off without them.

    • Matokwani for real! Why do you want to criticize everything? What’s wrong with this development? Don’t be xenophobic; we are now living in a global village.

  2. $30m industrial park, my foot! that will just cost 30 houses. anyway, we have shopping malls in Kalingalinga competing with the likes of Manda Hill & so this park is welcome to employ few more people

    • yes agree with Jay Jay at least this means people are more productive than another mall and it will at least bring down prices of commodities ……..if only Zambians could have access to low interest loans like chinese or south african companies….. people can’t even get loans/ mortgage to build a proper house

  3. Jobs are required, and meanwhile they are offering fair prized service and lastly teaching us the art. Visit The Chinese mall along the Kafue road opposite Misisi compound rear metropolitan School and see for yourself that prices can be fairer than those in town center area for the same items made in China. Why not compete with them if you can rather than be negative day in day out.

  4. Jiangxi and Huajiang;eat that money, its from PF,eat it its yours, make yourself rich brother.you ve been paying tax in Zambia,so that is your pay back money. From now onwards, whoever gets money from Lungu they must eat or drink that money-cos thats what Lungu has been doing with our tax payers money.Anything being constructed from 2015 is dirty money, becos they ve Lungu or his Ministers as shareholders in all these projects. So whether you are a foreigner or real Zambia and you receive money for projects from Lungu-eat it-that is your own money.

  5. If you dont eat any government money now,you will never eat any Zambian government again. This is the time,Con lungu, fake to be PF,get the money, and eat it.But vote for the oppposition. Why i say so,because HH is accountant,so you wont eat any free money under him whatsover unless you budget and account for it.Time for free manner from heaven is now pa zed bane.Go out there, pick some free grapes for yourself too.hehehe……………

  6. I just picked up kasaka kaunga mu cairo for myself……now am humbly going home and wait for Aug 11!but donchi kubeba.
