Police arrest 18 -year-old man for raping woman aged 68

police

POLICE in Petauke are holding an 18-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman aged 68 year old woman.

Police deputy spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said in a statement to Mwebantu that police arrested Richard Mbewe of Salatiele village for allegedly having raped a 68 year old woman identified as Timbekenyi Phiri of Kanjoka Village.

He said the incident occurred on July 11, 2016 around 10:00 hours at Kanjoka village in Petauke district in Eastern Province.

Meanwhile, Police have arrested a 19 year old man identified as Alex Mwewa Nkandu of Nchelenge district for allegedly having murdered his step father.

“The incident happened at Kapolopolo farm in Lukoshi farming area of Chambishi when the suspect hit the deceased on the head with a round bar,” Mr Hamoonga said.

He said the deceased as John Simukoko , 46, sustained a deep cut on the head and later died.

Mr Hamoonga said the murder occurred on July 11, 2016 around 02:00 hours.

The deceased is from Isoka district and his body is lying in Chambishi Government Mortuary awaiting post-mortem,” Mr Hamoonga said.

  2. Both of them are just kids 18 and 19 year olds. Not even qualified to be called men. Shame on this kids they are cursed.
