Zesco United shift camp to Lusaka

Zesco United have packed up their bags in Ndola and heading to Lusaka on Friday for a three-day camp before flying out to Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.

George Lwandamina’s side will be in Lusaka for the final phase of their preparations for their July 27 date against ASEC Mimosa in the 2016 CAF Champions League Group A fixture.

Zesco will exclusively train on the artificial pitches at Olympic Youth Development Centre and Independence Stadium.

This is in order for the team to adopt to the playing surface of next Wednesdays match venue at Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan.

Zesco will fly out to Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday morning to Abidjan via Johannesburg.

Zesco are second in Group A on six points, one behind leaders Wydad and three ahead of ASEC who are third heading into the fourth round of matches next week.

Lwandamina’s side beat ASEC 3-1 in the first leg match played on July 16 in Ndola to see them bounce back from their 2-0 away loss to Wydad on June 29 in Rabat.

  1. A minimum of a draw will put us very close to either 1st or 2nd position in Group A, with a good game plan & tactical play it can be done…. !
