The Lusaka water and Sewerage Company has warned Lusaka residents to brace for water blues in the Capital City and surrounding areas.

The water utility firm said it will not be able to supply water in most parts of the city due to disruptions from July 29 th to August 4 th 2016.

This is according to a statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today by Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Public Relations officer Nshamba Muzungu.

Mr Muzungu said LWSC said the water utility company will be unable to supply water due to a ZESCO four day power supply shutdown.

The Lusaka water and Sewerage Company has since advised its esteemed customers to ensure that they store enough water during the stated period.

  1. The story as is usual with Zambian journalism is incomplete. Please tell us why ZESCO is blacking out Lusaka. Why this time, at election time? Is it Lusaka only? Is this four day power shutdown continuous? I’ve never heard of such anywhere in the world. What will ZESCO be doing that neccessitates this black out? These Plus other questions before you publish the story.

    • @1 I’ll rejoin PF ..that is the problem with a lot of things in our country! Shoddy, total mediocrity! I believe this is a hoax like the ZESCO one last time when they said there would be no electricity for 5 days which sent panic and Dora went to refute and it never happened! Let us hope this too is just one and also let us hope that the introduction of power of Maamba Thermal has nothing to do with this (if it is true).

    • Soon you will hear how the president intervened and prevented the black out/water supply for 4 days. And every body will cheer, yeeeeh!!!! Yeeeeh!!! Presidential initiative. Kikikik but Africa we are just behind not because we are behind but becuase of leadership. They are a let down
      these id!ots

    • Just try and get the meaning in this tautological sentence:
The water utility firm said it will not be able to supply water in most parts of the city due to disruptions from July 29 th to August 4 th 2016.
What is LT saying here? Yes if there are disruptions there wouldn’t be supply mwebantu!

  2. I would not lose sleep over this, it’s probably, most probably a misunderstanding of technical matters by the PRO for Lusaka water. I am sure the appropriate Zesco officer will issue a clarification. For example I have just received an sms from Zesco notifying customers of a shut down tomorrow from 08hrs to 17hrs to facilitate maintenance.

Too many ignorant people in this country, and UPND is having a field day preying on ignorant people. Except that it always backfires on UPND As soon as a clarification is given by authorities concerned. Which is why the UPND train has derailed catastrophically at a critical time like this, the ballot papers have arrived and some people find themselves exactly where they started from in 2006.

  3. In case Upnd take advantage and try to misepresent my comment, the shut down is in my area, I did not say the whole Lusaka….awe mwe…….Upnd has learnt bad manners from the Post and they do not even realise that it has caused a lot of damage to their campaigns as well as the credibility of their underfive boy HH.

  4. This LWSC PR Officer Muzungu said “the water utility company will be unable to supply water due to a ZESCO four day power supply shutdown.” Really laughable …so this is shambolic reporting so why are ZESCO shutting down for 4 days? Are they going on holiday? These companies need to privatized as they have appalling customer services …

  5. @ jay jay, first Zesco hasn’t commented on this issue, so why make a case out of it. This negativity has taken its toll on you. Mind you mmembe is busy digging HH’s grave each time he opens his mouth through the Post.

  6. The black out (Zesco Shut Down) will be in Kafue and LWSC gets some if not most of its water from Kafue to supply Lusaka and since there will be in power in Kafue, it means LWSC will not be able to pump the water to Lusaka.
