Controversial Catholic Priest Frank Bwalya has finally started the process of leaving the Holy Priesthood, the profession he attained after 7 years of training.

In a long passionate statement, Mr Bwalya who is now Deputy Spokesman in the PF said he is taking the steps to leave priesthood after deep reflection.

Mr Bwalya who took time off active priestly duties a few years ago said it has proved hard for him to go back to the priesthood and he has now decided to seek permission to be released.

He however said he will continue respecting the Catholic Church.

Below is Mr Bwalya’s statement

Sixteen years ago on September 30, 2000 I was ordained a priest after training for a solid eleven years.

Thereafter, I prayed everyday saying, “Lord, grant that I may die and be buried as your priest”. It is now seven years since I took leave from priestly ministry. I regret to say that my prayer cited above may not be realised. I say so because I have decided to start the process of asking Mother Church to allow me to leave Holy Priesthood.

I believe that my mother, siblings and close relations not to mention fellow priests, the laity and friends across religious groupings have had enough time to prepare for this eventuality.

For a long time, I never imagined that one day I would make such a decision. However, it has become necessary to choose to walk one path and since it has proved hard for me to go back to the priesthood this time around I have decided to seek permission to be released.

So I will soon start taking steps towards a dignified departure from Holy Priesthood as prescribed by Mother Church. Please pray that God will continue to grant me happiness and personal fulfilment.

Above all pray that I may never disgrace my background and above all my faith as a Catholic Christian.

I will proudly continue to share in the common priesthood of the baptised and do everything within my means to propagate our faith. I will forever be grateful for the blessings I have received as a priest and the honour the Order accorded me.

I will soon take some time out to reflect and deal with the process of leaving priesthood. When I return, God willing, I will be the same passionate and zealous Frank Bwalya. I have written this reflection with a free conscience and a light heart because I have had enough time to discern.

I pray that God will continue to sustain my desire to serve his people in what I do and that I will never lose focus of his Kingdom. Amen.

  1. Good Luck with that Father Frank Bwalya. Please forgive your self and ask God to forgive you and those that wanted you to be a father to forgive you. Stay honourable to your decision and dont regret.

    • Money changes people

It changes Lungu, this chowderhead in Frank Bwalya

He should apologise for mocking people in believing he was Father.

      Thanks

      Thanks

    • Does God read LT or Facebook?? Fr. Bwalya, you know what we do, we go for confession, knee before a priest or Bishop at tell a story. We come out with great advice, and sins get forgiven.
Can imagine if people saw Frank in those white robs, that cathedral will be fully packed to the streets.
Your PF fantasy is a sin, get a job from them, at least ambassador to Vatican.

    • Thats one horny priest! It was just a matter of time. He was missing the sweetest thing which ever happened to man. Welcome sir.

    • This is the issue when you join priesthood due to poverty ……in Africa it’s really hard sometimes to decipher the true motive for people going into the faith….I don’t believe Bwalya ever imagined he would find himself in such position of national influence …he gave himself sabbatical to taste the waters and now has established himself so he still had plan B in case politics failed he would then fall back on priesthood. Sorry some of us are not gullible to your shenanigans!!

    • You are at the right age to make the right career change … while others find mid life confusing leading to total destruction others find energy to make bold moves to fully self-actualize. After all, life begins at 40, get the release you need from the Holy See and find you a beautiful Zambian lady and settle down.

Nothing more beautiful than a Zambian woman, I tell you … wishing the best!!

God speed and good luck in your next endeavors.

    • PF is a party of CROOKED LAWYERS, CROOKED PRIESTS, CROOKED BUSINESSMEN, CROOKED THIEVES.

The Catholic Church should be ashamed of producing such filth.

The CALIBER OF ZAMBIA LEADERS!! AWE MWE!!

  2. LT, this is not headline news. The decisions of Frank Bwalya and his fathership or lack of it have no bearing on the nation.
We are in a hurry to develop the country and such small talk is of no bearing whatsoever.

  3. It high time the Catholic Church did away or reformed this fatherhood thing…. many of the so called fathers end up being biological fathers…am sure this walya has many such zygotes scattered around

  4. How wish Edgar Chakolwa Kaloba can also come and say have I stolen, have swindled, have been clueless, visionless and a convicted crook I therefore announce my resignation

    • Why should ECL say all those false things,

when those whole, without doubt, stole from the mines during privatization are siting there enjoying the stolen money,

falsely shouting, I am rich instead of saying am a thief!

And you want ECL to confess on their behalf, when they are still living and can confess for themselves.

  5. God’s calling to priestly life is at times misunderstood. I think that Frank Bwalya is now convinced he did not receive this calling with one mind and heart. He had other ambitions he can not let go. However, remember the story of one Joana who tried to run away from God’s calling to Nineva? The fish took him there and the rest you know…. He will call you back if he wanted to use you as his priest.
We wish you well in your future life calling.

  6. He was not a christian from the beggining. He belongs to a cult. Remember how he mutilated a live chicken in public and shed blood. That’s satanism. Watch one of TB JOSHUA’S deliverance sesions. Same behaviour was exhibited by a member of the cult which was very powerful and could not be delivered in a single day. So that blood he shed is pure satanism. That is why he is always lieing before men and women, before God himself. He knows he’s been lieng and he’s hauted by his hypocrysy.

    • Abel’s bloody sacrifice was preferred to Caine’s healthy first harvest. God is a Satanist?
Moses turns all water sources into blood with the help of God. God a Satanist?
Blood of the lamb, vengeance is mine. God is a Satanist?
This is my blood, drink it to memorialize me. Jesus is a Satanist?
You are covered by the blood of Jesus. You are a Satanist?

      Stop being a zombie.

There is no where in the bible where it says And Satan asked for blood.

  7. kikikiki this imbecile now has a guaranteed source of income under pf so he can freely quit priesthood. Indeed he is a good example of the chaps who use religion as a source of income. You are an embarrassment you silly chap. Karma will get you. As I have been saying, nature has a way of dealing with undesirables who force themselves onto people. You helped that drunk to steal votes and now you can run away from religion. ****** we.

  8. Bishop Terrible: “Go well Father Bwalya, you have run your race in priesthood. We shall continue to pray for you as you serve your God in other pursuits.”

  9. Some people, like Hichilema for example, can’t think of other ways of serving God’s people. He thinks the only way is becoming the president of Zambia at all costs, even when God has told them through the ballot and the courts of law that He wants them to serve Hia people through rearing cattle and supplying beef to His people. Thanks for the good example, Father Bwalya.

    • He has successfully accomplished all that. He’s the biggest indigenous cattle rancher this country has ever had. Some trade he learned from his village apparently. Imwe yanu nikuteya nsolo nakuyanga opita muponyelepo. Show us your own.

  10. @Terrible, God is so sacred above human understanding, you should never liken your stupid thoughts to his ways. May he heal your lunacy and misplaced energy. Anyway I equally understand you, looking at the country you are current resident, everything you lamented seems to be normal I hope don’t come back thinking corruption is holy.

    • What gives you the incumbency to defend god? Do you have exclusive rights to god? Doesn’t god say thou shall not judge? Whatever one says about god that’s between him and his maker stay out of it. God does not need your defense. He is a big boy, he can handle iit himself.

  11. Soon we shall hear he has taken akabale, in readiness to act against his oath of priesthood. It is better for him to leave before he brings the name of the church to shame. The only thing that can make a priest leave the church is the taste of the forbidden fruit.

  12. Wow it takes one 11 yes to be a priest and study one old book…pray to empty space and then PF offers you a job u quit..doesnt surprise me…count how many prayers you as a person have done and now measure the results..i can delightfully say..98/100 went answered and the 2..think probability..friends prayers dont work..if they did..it woukd happen often

  13. What motivated Frank to quit priesthood was not primarily money. It had more to do with freedom of expression. As station manager, he was told to tone down on politics and this lead to a live confrontation with Bishop Oreagan on Radio Icengelo. Frank openly challenged the Bishop on the Church ‘s stand on politics. The following day he was sent on forced leave both as Priest of Ipusukilo and station manager. From that time he’s tried a few things.

  14. Mr Bwalya who took time off active priestly duties a few years ago said it has proved hard for him to go back after tasting the pleasures of the flesh and experiencing what money and power can do for one that is weak in spirit.

  15. Thank you my fellow Catholic Christian for your honest final decision. We will continue praying for you as much you should continue praying for us. Just make sure you do not quit the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Mother Church, and to remain ever sacramental Catholic Christian.

  16. Iwe sauzande you have to tame your mind and your mouth. Play with other things and not GOD you’re heading to distraction. Soon you shall die if you continue such nonesence.

  17. IF FRANK BWALYA IS ALLOWED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THE MY MESSAGE IS FOR THE LEADERS WHY WERE YOU CHASING MILINGO IN ALL DIRECTIONS HE WENT HUNTING HIM TO GO BACK TO … WHEN HE DECIDED TO MARRY?
