Chiyangi: Nkana must move on after Zanaco loss

Share

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi says Nkana must accept the 4-0 loss to Zanaco in Saturday’s Barclays Cup semifinals and move on.

Nkana were eliminated from the Barclays Cup in humiliating fashion after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Zanaco at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Chiyangi said Nkana players need to have a strong mentality in order to overcome the shock resulting from the Zanaco drubbing.

“We have lost. It is the name of the game, one team needed to win,” he said.

“Football is about having a strong mentality. We need to accept defeat and focus ahead,” Chiyangi said.

He insisted that Nkana never missed the services of club leading scorer Walter Bwalya who was suspended for accumulating red card at the quarterfinal stage.

“Missing Walter would have been here had we not created chances. We even created more chances than Zanaco but Zanaco were more sharper.

The players who were on the pitch could have done what Walter does,” Chiyangi said.

Nkana are now preparing to host Nakambala Leopards in a league match on Saturday.
