Konkola Blades suffer setback in promotion race

Konkola Blades risk surrendering the FAZ Division Zone Two top spot with two matches left to play in the campaign after succumbing to a 2-1 loss at FQMO Mining in Solwezi on Sunday.

Second played Kitwe United, who are two points behind Konkola will go top should they beat Gomes Wanderers in Wednesday’s delayed match in Ndola.

Striker Andrew Mwansa and captain Kenneth Mwape scored for FQM as Konkola remained stuck on 54 points from 27 matches played.

Elsewhere, Roan United improved their seemingly slim chances of winning promotion after thumping Bresmar United 2-0 in Solwezi.

Striker Lyson Sikaonga and Joshua Chisenga scored for Stylish.

This was Sikaonga’s goal number 21 for Roan this term.
