Finance Minister Felix Mutati will present his maiden national budget on Friday, 11th November, 2016.

The 2017 National Budget will be the first annual plan under the economic stabilisation and recovery programme being developed by the government.

“In the coming days before budget day, the Ministry of Finance will be finalising consultations and then conducting validation, integrity and consistency checks in the proposed policies, programs, activities, and revenue and expenditure measures,” Ministry Spokesman Chileshe Kandeta said in a statement.

“Thereafter, a special purpose team will be assembled and tasked to commence the drafting of the budget speech which shall be presented for consideration by Cabinet before being presented to Parliament.”

  1. kikiki that is why they give this dull boy this job. He was the only one willing to take responsibility under the impossible leadership of lungu and pf. Anyway we wish him all the best presenting “imf’s budget” to us with all the negative balances and zeros. KIkiki

    • How about just auction this briefcase and use money for good purpose. You leaders you keep encouraging us to pray and fast and to be patient while you keep enjoying the salaries and overtime allowances, You even get paid for attending national day of fasting while we we keep on being patient waiting for answered prayer. You leaders your prayers seem to be already answered as you have a good paying job. you travel for comesa and enjoy buffet while you leave us fasting.

  2. IT WILL BE ANOTHER USELESS PIECE OF PAPER. AS LONG AS THE CROOKS REMAIN IN POWER, ZAMBIANS CAN NOT EXPECT ANYTHING GOOD TO COME OUT OF THIS PIECE OF PAPER. THE RECENT FUEL PUMP PRICE HIKE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO THIS.

  3. Thank prayer day we have PF dominated grade 12s in parley. They will have 30 days in which to scan thru the document in a drunken state before they break off to continue drinking in the “festive season” & it’ll be the commoner (who doesn’t benefit from subsidies) to bear the brunt on 02/01/17.

  4. zambia is for us all. Pf the winning team. Come 2021 we will get it. Northern, Luapula, Muchinga, Eastern, Lusaka, Copperbelt and central provinces muli naifwe. Southern, North-western and Western provinces will always appreciate you for the checks and balances you are always offering.

  5. Ati PF, nakakunkubiti ka fuel ati winnong 2021, this time even ka Chulu will be too scared to be involved in rigging.

  6. And UPND was not a solution in the 2016 elections. Thats the reason we rejected ka UPND with its useless thinking that they would be better leaders. Very dull and stubborn members.

    • And first “achievement” of “better leaders” can be seen at petrol stations!
Please more of the same. After all, in a democracy, each people merit government they have.
