Struggling Mufulira Wanderers have been awarded three points by the FAZ Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of their Super Division match against Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on 23 October.

Wanderers were leading 1-0 at half time via a Progress Kalenga goal when this week 29 match was abandoned after assistant referee Lewis Mumba was injured on the right elbow by an object thrown from the crowd.

“The Committee after considering the verbal and written submissions from the two clubs and the report from the referee, found Power Dynamos Football Club guilty of having caused the match to be abandoned,” the committee stated.

“Power Dynamos Football Club are fined K10000 for causing the match to be abandoned and accrued 150 penalty points.

Three points awarded to Mufulira Wanderers Football Club on three goals to zero basis.

The medical expenses incurred by the Assistant Referee (Mumba) must be paid by Power Dynamos Football Club,” read the judgement.

Meanwhile, Wanderers have been lifted off the relegation zone by the three points.

Mighty have jumped from 15th to 13th place, one place above the relegation, with 36 points from 32 matches played.

  1. Good move FAZ. We should not allow hooliganism in football. However every Zambian MUST support Zambian Local leagues. I like pipo from copperbellt, they support bola ya pa zed with a passion.

  2. They are busy supporting colonial masters leagues in Europe because they have little regard for their own selves. Greatness is admiring your achievement not your neighbor’s

  3. Mighty before next season put your house in order. It is not a good thing to be draw kings. Imagine 18 draws. Hope the EXCO, shall put things in place. Mighty is a team with a rich soccer history and should revive its soccer fortunes
