National Restoration Party (NAREP) leader Elias Chipimo junior has been reelected as party leader at a party convention held in Lusaka yesterday.
Mr. Chipimo got 65 votes to beat his rival Grace Gondwe who polled only 19 votes.
NAREP vice president for administration Charles Maboshe and his counterpart for politics Ngosa Mwelwa both went unopposed.
And Mr. Chipimo has thanked party members for the confidence they have shown in him to re-elect him as party leader.
Speaking shortly after the elections Mr. Chipimo assured party members that will not let them down.Mr. Chipimo stated that he will work with everyone in the party especially the women.
Meanwhile NAREP has also held elections for its national executive members.The opposition party has also made some amendments to the party constitution with one of them being the party president being an automatic presidential candidate in an event of national general election.
Congratulations Elias. U are a true Democrat. How I wish HH can emulate what NAREP has done. Your party is a clear testimony that u believe in democracy. I dont think someone mu upnd can av the muscle to stand with that sata*nist. Congratulations sir and well done. Zambians are happy with such political parties. It’s the principle that must be appreciated here. This is a mark of democracy and not patronage!
It’s not about the number of membership, it’s about democracy unlike Hakashide Humwine’s personal party where when the Satanist farts every member laughs with joy as there convinced he’s the life leader.
I propose that all political parties registered under the Zambian Republican constitution be required to hold a convention every five years, and one leader be allowed to run for two terms ONLY. The ECZ be the ONLY body to conduct and authentic the voting at such events. The cost of up keep and other logistics for ECZ officials be take care off by ECZ itself. While the up keep of party delegates and venue costs be born by the party itself. This way we will strengthen our democracy.
NAREP party belongs to civil society organizations such as church activism.
The party which has no force, docility that perpetrates extremism in its highest order.

We all remember one Ackson Sejani the current elections chairman of the UPND who decreed that only the Current Supreme Leader HH of the UPND shall remain the leader in perpetuity…

I’m NAREP member and I was party of the convention, we had 10 representatives from 10 provinces. That’s main body,women, youths, district and constituency so how many votes would want him to get?

NAREP is a Quasi PF party to legitimise PF governing style. NAREP leadership is awaiting a cheque from PF for legitimising PF democracy.
