Government has announced that President Edgar Lungu has postponed his state visit to Egypt.
President Lungu was due to fly out to Cairo tomorrow for a three-day state visit.
But Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says the state visit to Egypt has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
“Hon Kalaba further wishes to announce that the King of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI who was scheduled to visit Zambia on 17th December on a two-day State visit will not travel to Zambia but sometime next year,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Dorcas Chileshe said in a statement.
Ms. Chileshe said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work round the clock to ensure that President Lungu meets the two Heads of State in the coming year.
President Lungu’s nonstop international trips have attracted wide criticism from several stakeholders in light of austerity measures that his administration is said to be implementing.

After reading people’s replies to Harry Kalaba’s facebook posting in which HK was castigating HH for condemning Edward’s trips yesterday, this has come as no surprise.
This shows people power can triumph if sustainably pushed forward.
The man has developed swollen chicks like a child suffering from marasmus, a pot belly a a child suffering from kwashiorkor. All this because of the money he is stealing and the free food he is enjoying. He has even developed a donkey voice because of the expensive whisky he is drinking.

Your guess is as good as mine though. All expenses and allowances for the botched trip have been kept and retained by the contractors and individual beneficiaries concerned. When a fresh trip is finally called, more monies shall go!

The Moroccan King “postponed” his visit to Zambia because of Vodiga Rungu’s two-faced, lack of direct diplomacy. PF has no diplomatic policy beyond stuffing their bellies and pockets with allowances from unnecessary trips. The King of Morocco was advised to “postpone” his trip because of an update on the ambiguous position of the Zambian government on Western Sahara.
And the Egyptians have told him not to go there because they are in mourning after the blast at the Coptic Church. Vodiga Rungu is only very concerned at the loss of allowances – the loss of Egyptian lives and the Moroccan King can go stuff themselves.
If truly you were invited, you would have gone but this is clear that you invited yourself.
Obviously, the Egyptian President may have wondered what Chakolwa wanted to go and do in Egypt. You know there is history of turning the water of the Nile river into blood by Moses, so perhaps the Egyptians heard that the ka fake Bishop Moses will accompany Lungu and intends to turn the Nile into Mosi, Castle etc so that the Egyptians drown during the festive season.

I can understand the reason for the cancellation of the trip to Egypt in view of the mourning in that country following the bomb blast.
Why is the Moroccan King not coming? Was Lungu supposed to get instructions from Egypt before meeting the King?
Lungu has not taken note of our complaints. He has been forced to stay by other forces. He enjoys traveling so much,makes more money and recoups the half salary and can drink to his satisfaction without worrying about us noticing.
Unfortunately the Grade 12 Presidential Advisers are not as saavy as you are and could not spin it in that direction…the just issue a vague statement and move on as we Zambians are docile.
Thank goodness Tax payers money is spared by cancelling these impromptu unproductive trips. The fact that Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba has failed to mentioned any negative economic effects that will befall Zambia due to these cancelled trips speaks volumes.

Zambia has been told re-financing the two Eurobond borrowed in 2014 and 2014 would be very expensive for Zambia. This is a big blow to Edward’s efforts to get recogtion after the disputed August 2016 Elections. President Yahya Jammeh has petetioned the Election of Mr Adama Harrow, the President Elect in the Gambia Supreme Court,, who recently won the Election in Gambia. Now can a foreign country host Mr Jammeh while the Petetion is being heard in the Supreme Court? The International Community knows that Edward’s re-election is being challenged in Courts. The AU, SADC and UN should insist on Edward being treated as an illegitimate President until the Petetion is heard and determined. In the meantime no country should host the illegitimate Edward. Lets hope shameless Edward will take heed.

As copper prices are picking up, the evonomy is getting better and better, more and more employment in the mines. And the ground is becoming less and less fertile for insurgency by the Chief Donkey. Nothing seems to be working well for Kalusa, whether at the ballot or the economy or the sabotages.
It is the Egyptian govt which cancelled the visit. However Edward can now fly to Gambia where President Yahya Jammeh has invited him to come and advise him on how to deal with Election Petition at the Gambia Supreme Court and on how to illegally swear himself in office. If Edward chooses to ignore Jameh’s request he can sit at State House while praying and imbibing cheaper beer from National Breweries and listening to his own Election Petition in the High Court beginning December 15,2016. Well Yayah has executed his constitutional rights to be heard we just hope if his petition is thrown out he wont go to the ICC and other imaginary courts to have his case heard. In fact he is relying on evidence that in one area after voter justification Barrow actually won but the area declared Yayah winner, he swore on the Koran to uphold the results. In Ghana the ousted President has sent a warming warning to the incoming President and Lungu would do well to listen to what the man has said, some of the appointments made by Lungu are sickening to say the least. Lastly indeed the UPND has been granted a hearing by the High Court but as to whether it can overturn the election results will be interesting to see.

Apart from the legal issues people feel Edward has no moral authority to rule Zambia. If indeed Edward won the Election why has he refused to prove this in a Court of Law? The fact that Edward has been using his influence in Concourt confirms that there is overwhelming evidence to show that Edward stole victory from HH and illegally swore himself into power. Edward needs a compromise over this Petition to restore the legitimacy crisis. Nothing will work for Edward until the Petition is heard and determined. The only way to stop Lungu fooling around flying in and out is to one way or another block his return to Zambia. This would give him uninterrupted touring the rest of the world and enjoying himself to the fullest.
From South Africa, VASCO DA GAMA wanted to make a STOP-OVER in Lusaka to change clothes before proceeding to EGYPT. From Egypt, another trip would have been booked.
Is Zambia so uncomfortable that he feels he needs to spend more time away? Is it the LOAD-SHEDDING? is it the failed ECONOMY? Is it the faces of hungry children? Or is it the GUILT of STEALING an ELECTION?

Presidential trips are expensive because of logistics and the number of people involved but if you guys truly believe that apresident makes his money by going on trips then I am truly worried for you.
