Ruling PF Copperbelt Youth Chairman Nathan Chanda says the party in the province is solidly behind President Edgar Lungu’s intentions to stand in the 2021 elections.

Mr Chanda said there is vacancy at the helm of the party and that those positioning themselves to challenge President Lungu are bent on causing confusion.

Answering questions from Journalists during the PF Interactive Forum held in Luanshya on Sunday, Mr Chanda said the party in the province has already endorsed President Lungu for the 2021 elections.

He was answering questions about his personal views on Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili and his relationship with the party.

“Hon Kambwili is a senior member of the party. He is a Member of the Central Committee (MCC) which is the supreme organ of the party and my superior thus I can’t discuss him. However, let me quickly point out that the PF has so many men and women who are still standing and will continue to stand strong,” Mr Chanda said.

He said the greatest and biggest battle the PF faced was at the election of President Lungu as the party president at the convention in 2015 but that the party came out stronger.

“If we came out stronger after that battle we will remain stronger even after any other. Let me restrict myself to discuss issues affecting the youths and not MCC,” he said.

Mr Chanda assured that that Copperbelt remains a stronghold for President Lungu.

“Those who are positioning themselves to inherent the presidency, I want to tell them that it’s traditionally wrong to plan to succeed someone who is still alive.”

He warned that there are some people who are trying to confuse youths on the Copperbelt.

“Our youths are clever and are able to read between the lines. We have no vacancy in the party not even at the top. It is time to work and not politick. Our youths are telling me what is happening in every district. There are people calling my youths asking them to rebel against the President because they have not been helped. Mukolwe pakukula epo afuna impindo (a cock loses its feather when it is maturing). One day kakabalika naimwe.”

He added, “I am aware of Some people who are frustrating the efforts of the government especially in the agriculture ministry. We want to remind them that we will not sit idle. We support the reshuffles the president has announced in the civil service.”

      Akandoshi nabwaiche!
Concentrate on solving the many problems in the country ba kolwe ime stop that rubbish of 2021!

    • I still dont understand, why a Party wouldnt want the Presdeint to be challenged. it is not like it is being done illegally.

The Presidency is the Holy grail, it is the pinnacle, killing aspiration of doesn’t strike me as a democratic Government. It is not like Chishimba is doing anything illegally or anyone else.

      Thanks

    • @ 1.2 Mushota,

You cannot understand why someone would not like to be challenged until you ask HH and the UPND.

UPND will tell you why HH cannot be challenged for more than a decade now.

Also ask Canisius who conducted a research and discovered the reason behind the more than a decade dedication to HH by UPND members.

Therefore, @1.2 Mushota, you don’t need any research UPND has the answer to your questions.

The simple answer is that UPND is not democratic.

That is why they can’t allow to be challenged like other parties such as PF and MMD who go for intra-party elections at every appropriate time.

    • This Nathan Chanda is typical of the average thinking Zambians with no aspirations! Adages are aptly used to justify either a suitable desire or finding excuses for being dumb! Zambia as a self aggrandizing christian nation at least knows that succession is a must early christians could easily have been sustained by God if He so wished but they were cut short to pave way for younger energetic ones (Jesus was taken away at about 33 years old), in the forests young saplings quickly succeed old trees now even with a law that limits term of serving in the highest office it has to be youthful Chanda pushing for Lungu’s continuity! How sad!

    • @ 1.5 FuManchu,

Are you now accusing all UPND MPs and all members to be average thinkers, with no aspirations?

The entire of UPND membership has been glued to HH go more than a decade, why haven’t you advised them when you are such a focused consultant?

And of course you need to answer this one:
Are you below the average thinkers yourself? What aspirations have you exhibited?

Getting back to UPND, come to think of it, the entire UPND, only Canisius had aspirations besides HH. Very strange – either UPND has very few members or it has a huge dabase of people with no aspirations according to you.

More than a decade no one other than HH has had aspirations apart from Canisius Banda.

    • The difference You “Silly Diva” @ 3.1 is the people You are accusing of being U.P.N.D, cadres DONT draw a Government salary, – to Your Thick Br@in also known as TAXPAYERS MONEY!!
Now go to sleep, You definitely need it!

  1. mr mr chanda dont take things so easy. take survey and hear what other pf supporters are saying.
kambwili will be president the say they did to guy scot, it will happen.

  2. it’s traditionally wrong to plan to succeed someone who is still alive!!!! in a democracy? really? ine shocked. are we talking about a chief or a president here?

  3. I hope this young man knows what he is doing. Zambian politics is not something to blindly get excited about. Many have fallen terribly. Things change so quickly.

  4. Zambians are fed up with PF debate pre occupation about their leader if he qualifies to stand in 2021 elections.
Zambians need service delivery to them and economic development for the nation. PF debate and worry about the vacancy who they pick for their party should be limited to their confines. Zambians are aware of the vacancy in state house.

  5. If Lazy Lungu wanted to unify his party he would have come out and stated his position, stopped this nonsense BUT we all know he is a weak lazy tool who survives on bootlickers caressing his ego. Simply look at the people he keeps round him empty tins.

  6. After having two incumbent presidents dying in office, one would have thought Zambians would start electing healthy “things” into office. Allowing corpses slide into office & hoping they will complete a term standing in time to aspire for a second one is being illusional. I mean, being an African president is a risky business. It can be fatal. The list of recent dead sitting presidents is alarmingly longer. Since 2008, Africa has lost ten (10) heads of state. With only 54 states, that’s a presidential mortality rate of nearly 18%; slightly higher than the infant mortality rate of Sierra Leone, which is the second highest in the world. In other words, a baby in Sierra Leone has more chance of surviving its first five years than African presidents do of getting through a few terms in office…

  7. ……. We all know Lungu is a sickling & the way he over-exerts himself in illicit sexual encounters with Dora & Mumbi Phiri, I doubt he will reach 2021. That’s too far, he will by then reside in Embassy Park if we do not cremate him. So let PF dream on!

  8. Who are you to talk about that? There is vacancy for top position more especially the party president, don’t you know that lungu was not elected? As a matter of agency the party has to go for convention to elect a competent president who can deliver Zambians from agony they are going through otherwise the party is contemplating talking to H.H. to become Pf president or else the whole Pf membership will defect to the UPND. Matako yako just shut up you don’t know anything!

  10. Please get to work . You’re embarrassing us as a nation at large with this talk. Does it mean whoever talks about this subject gets paid or we have too many cowards in PF. Are you telling us there is nothing to do. It’s way too early for this nonsense. Get to work or resign and come back in 2021 and do your thing.

  11. More work less talk, let’s get to work people tuma meetings for what? We need you guys to stops using those useless. Luxury SUVs, stop wasting govt resources with allowances and huge salaries, if need be start firing non perfoming civil servants starting with the senior civil servants such as ministers, perm secretaries, and those in govt institutions such as Rtsa, RDA, Zisc, Zesco, Zamtel, etc we need people who can work. I’m tired of pumping sense in the empty tins of the United Dunderheads- what I wanna see is my team PF start to work efficiently!
