Busy Economic schedule awaits Mutati in Sweden

Share

Minister of Finance  Felix Mutati,  will today make his  debut visit in the Swedish capital, Stockholm on a hectic diplomacy schedule  said the Deputy Ambassador, Anthony Mukwita.

The Deputy Ambassador in an interview said  that Mr Mutati who visits Sweden as part of his European tour of economic diplomacy will commence his tour  on 25th January with an industrial tour of Bombardier, the largest train and Plane Company in the world that has offices in Stockholm.

“The next day hon Mutati is scheduled to hold high level economic discussions with officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Energy, and perhaps the Ministry of Development corporation,” Mr Mukwita, the Deputy Ambassador said.

Mr Mukwita said the embassy was delighted to host Mr Mutati who will also hold further high level talks with Business Sweden and other ‘captains of the industry’ such as Bombardier, as Zambia continues to push a path of economic diplomacy encouraged by President Edgar Lungu and Minister of Foreign Affairs hon. Harry Kalaba.

Zambia has enjoyed ‘warm diplomatic relations’ with Sweden from the time of independence in 1964, culminating into various trade agreements, including the most recent boost in the Social Cash Transfer Sweden (and Finland) meant for the poor Zambians to a tune of more than K230million.

Relations between the two countries have  improved especially since the election of President Lungu in 2015 and re-election in 2016, which culminated into the President hosting Swedish ambassador to Zambia Henrik Cederine and Deputy Head of Mission David Wiking.

Recently, Transport and Communications Minister hon. Brian Mushimba commenced discussions to revive the Zambia Railways with Business Sweden.

Hon Mushimba is determined to see Zambia Railways fully revamped

  1. Trickle down effect to the vulnerable, nothing. Then at the airport on return, we will be told the trip was SUCCESSFUL

    • What’s the job of Mukwita if Mutati has to go there to do diplomacy. The ideal situation would have been for Mukwita to do those mundane tasks & encourage the swedes to come to zambia where Mutati would show them where we would like to work with them. Mutati having worked with Levy & Magande should know this.

  2. Anything to be in the limelight for this bootlicker Anthony Mukwita….him and the crook in RSA should not be in Embassies…
