APR pleased with draw at Zanaco

Share

APR coach Jimmy Mulisa says they achieved their first leg objective by holding hosts Zanaco on Saturday.

The Rwandans held Zanaco to a 0-0 result in Lusaka to hit the hosts hopes of making a promising start to their 2017 CAF Champions League campaign.

Zanaco’s home draw has left them on the edge and facing the prospect of their first early exit from CAF club competition since 2003.

“There is still a long way to go, we still have a last leg to play. We just wanted to show that we were also champions in Rwanda and we are just waiting for the result leg in Rwanda and see what will happen,” Mulisa said.

“To be honest, with all due respect, Zanaco is a good team with a lot of experience.

“We will be cautions and see how we are going to finish but I believe it is going to be a very tough game.”

The two sides will meet this weekend in Kigali to decide who goes through to next month’s first round.

Winner will player Young Africans of Tanzania or Ngaya of Comoros.

Young Africans are away for the first leg match in the Comoros on Sunday afternoon.
