Zesco chance kickoff time for Enugu Rangers clash

Kickoff time of Zesco United’s 2017 CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage final leg tie on Saturday against Enugu Rangers of Nigeria has been adjusted by at least two hours.

The match was scheduled to be played at 15h00 but will now be played at 17h30 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

This is due to the Nigerian champions 24 hour delay in their arrival for the match due to industrial action by the players on April 13 on the date of departure from Enugu over unpaid bonuses dating back to February.

“This serves to inform the media, stakeholders and fans that kickoff time for the 2nd leg of the pre-group stage round against Rangers International of Nigeria has been moved from 15:00 hours to 17:30 hours tomorrow Saturday,15th April,2017,” Zesco media officer Katebe Chengo said.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances Rangers missed their flight from Enugu to Addis Ababa yesterday (Thursday).

“The team is scheduled to fly to Ndola and will land at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport at 14:20 hours.”

Rangers were earlier due to land in Ndola at 14h00 on Friday.

Zesco and Rangers head into the final leg level at 2-2 from the first leg match played on April 9 in Enugu.

  1. There will be a lot of red cards in that match, Inungu is protesting, and Zesco is saddened by arrests in Zambia.

    • Which arrests my dear we are celebrating for your own information. Peace is what we want. By arresting law breaker is restoring Peace. Go zega gooooooooo ZESCO looooooooo

  2. This is what is undoing African football. No allowances for players is an indication of a failed administration of the club.Even the more places at the world cup must be accompanied with seriousness in administering soccer in Africa.

  3. @Wiseman, which law breaking? Is being overtaken on the road now an offence in Zambia?Do you even drive you foolish Wiseman?
