Zambia Under-20 coach Beston Chambeshi is impressed with Zanaco striker Damiano Kola.

The Zambia Under-17 star is part of the provisional 30-member team in camp in Lusaka and is hoping to make the cut for the trip to the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup finals in South Korea next month.

Zambia went into preliminary camp on April 12 ahead of departure for a second trip to Spain on April 23.

“We are happy with the response from the other players whom we called in like Kola from Zanaco,” Chambeshi said.

“The boy is working hard and is adding value into the team.”

Kola, young brother of Zambia striker Rodgers and Zanaco goalkeeper Racha, has already shown flashes of his potential on the domestic front when he featured for Zanaco in the 2017 Charity Shield semifinal match against Nkana that The Bankers lost 3-0 on March 30.

“But I am happy with the overall input from the players in camp,” Chambeshi said.

Meanwhile, the team was joined by Napsa Stars winger Enock Mwepu on Tuesday following his return from trials in Austria.

Striker Edward Chilufya is set to also join camp on Wednesday following his return from trials at Swedish club Djurgardens IF where he signed a memorandum of understanding and should return to the club after the Under-20 wWorld Cup.

But the Zanaco duo of midfielder Boyd Musonda and goalkeeper Mangani Banda have been excused from camp until the clubs weekend league game when the defending FAZ Super Division champions host fellow early season strugglers Mufulira Wanderers.
