Gen. Masheke calls calls on the media to avoid anarchy

Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Zambia Chapter Chairman Malimba Masheke has urged journalists to ensure that they report factual stories to avoid anarchy in the country.

Retired General Masheke says it is vital for the media to report verified facts as failure to do so has great potential of jeopardising the peace of the country.

He further called on the media practitioners to always strive to operate on the profession’s pillars of factual, truthful and balanced coverage.

Rt. Gen. Masheke said this in Lusaka today during the one day media conference held under the theme “the role of the media in peace building”.

And Rt. Gen. Masheke further called on the media not to be used by selfish individuals who only want to propel their selfish ambitions at the expense of the country’s peace.

Rt. Gen. Masheke said the Universal Peace Federation Zambia Chapter will continue to engage the media in the promotion of peace in the country.

  1. A General who is a representative of an Indian cult. Google UPF and see what it is all about. These are the people who used to pray with KK at David Universal Temple at state house. Tehy even honoured Kambwili as ambassor of peace when CK was one of the violent politicians in zambia.

  2. This is a timely call. All Media should avoid sensationalising News. People depend on them for accurate information.

  3. Well said Gen.Masheke!!how i wish VJ Mwaanga was as wise as this man!!the major culprit is Fred M’membe medium-The Mast!!that paper if not controlled may set Zambia on fire because there is no news in it everyday but opinions from Anti-Govnt fellas such as Mike Mulongoti,HH,Nevers Mumba,GBM,Mwenya Musenge,Charles Milupi, etc. The Mast only carries anti Govnt opinions and not NEWS!!its a paper i can never BUY OR READ IN MY LIFE!!
Settling scores in the media should come to an end in Zambia because our country is bigger than anybody!!BRAVO GEN.MASHEKE!!

  4. Balanced reporting is unknown by ZNBC. Executive manipulates everything and everybody.

  5. a VERY DULL PRESENTATION FROM A RT GENERAL, YOU NEED TO GIVE EXAMPLES OF SUCH REPORTING DONT JUST YAP YAP YAP, MASHEKE SUITS

  6. Of course bitter people won’t see sense in what Gen Masheke is saying. They rather believe news that will say GBM has been invited by Jesus Christ to discuss the “stolen ” vote.
