President Edgar Lungu’s spokesperson Amos Chanda has condemned the police for stopping United Party for National Development (UPND) from conducting their membership renewal exercise.
President Lungu through Chanda has overuled the police and said the UPND should go ahead with the process.
Mr Chanda has also condemned the police for cancelling a church service that was supposed to take place yesterday.
The church service was supposed to thank God for releasing Hakainde Hichilema from jail.
He said he was happy that Religious Minister overruled the police and allow the church service to proceed.
He said that even if the minister Sumaili did not intervene, his boss Lungu was going to overrule the police.
Really laughable…how long is this IG’s incompetence going to be tolerated?

I just wanted to add my voice to your comment, which is; I think the Police have become confused due to persistent interventions in the past, whereby they have had to be told which way to go at every turn and have become conditioned to unprofessional conduct. This is what happens if Police are not allowed to operate professionally. It is the same way the DPP is behaving, she is programmed to certain decisions, and soon she will also be left alone,soon. These are politicians, and in Africa!

I thought PF have in the past said they don’t interfere with decisions made by the Police. Chanda is on record saying Police make their own rational decisions based on intelligent reports which we are told are in the best interest of the nation and as such, no one should interfere in their work. I pit the Reverand-Sumaili(Minister of Nationsl Guidance……..).This woman has a mammoth task to bring moral guidance to the PF Leadership,especially at State House & Cabinet .It seems she has only concentrated on christian spiritual issues where she is big time messing up.

If police are incomptent remove the Inspector General and some people who are not doing their job! Even losers like JJ and the clan are made to think they are smart and that other people don’t think because of mistakes of some incomptent chaps!
These calls to remove the IG Kanganja are all tribal talk. Why remove the IG when it is clear that all the shots are called by Lungu’s Eastern protege Nelson Phiri from Rupiah Banda’s village. Clearly Kanganja has no real powers and it is Nelson Phiri from eastern province making all these mistakes.

The fact also remains that we have an incompetent Police Force (PF) that is taking away the basic rights of Zambians.

In as much as I would dearly like to blame Kanganjya I see the hand of people like Kampyongo; Kaizer; mumbi behind this of cancelling the prayers and refusing permits to UPND for party card renewals. The I.G. does not have the capacity to act intelligently or proffesionally. In the past the I.G. has become a puppet in the hands of this unholy trio and I am sure they are still making him dance to dunnuna reverse.

Mr chanda said he was given a rolex watch as a present for his work when he was overseas. This is the presidents spokesperson, re read what he said, the president through amos Chandra has OVERTURNED the decision by the police. Two points here, 1 PF constantly states that the president doesnt interfere in the police decisions, well he has admitted that the pyresident does 2 what power does Amos Chanda have to instruct the police to reverse the decision. Amos Chanda has no power to instruct the police but here he admits that he does, further on he states that it was the religious affairs minister that overturned the police decision.
