WEEKEND SCORECARD: FAZ explains Shamujompa’s clearance

Share

FAZ has clarified that defender Isaac Shamujompa has only been handed a temporal clearance to feature for Power Dynamos.

Shamujompa’s permanent move to Power from lower tier club Intersport has been bogged down in a four-club matrix that has seen the defender inactive in domestic action for the last three months.

The defender played his first competitive league game since June last Saturdays in Power’s 2-0 home win over Nakambala Leopards.

“In view of the on-going investigations into Isaac Shamujompa’s transfer case, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has decided to issue him with a temporary player registration card to play for Power Dynamos football club,” FAZ spokesperson Desmond Katongo said.

“FAZ has resolved to issue the player with a temporary registration card to allow him feature in the FAZ/MTN Super League while the Player Status Committee studies his case.

“The dispute around the player’s status involves Inter Sport, Nchanga Rangers, Kalulushi Modern Stars and Power Dynamos football club.”

Shamujompa is currently away on 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifying duty with Zambia in West Africa where they face Nigeria away on October 7.

  1. Looks like the top scorers are all foreigners and if Chris Mugalu is a Zambian Wada should explain why he is not in the national team. Nonetheless, what justification can a coach have for leaving out a player who has scored 8 goals and you pick one with 3? PICK PLAYERS BASED ON CURRENT FORM NOT HISTORY OR RELATIONSHIPS
