First lady Esther Lungu has donated  K 30, 000 towards the project aimed at uplifting the welfare of people living with disabilities in Northern Province.

Northern Province permanent secretary Jobbicks Kalumba says the Provincial administration is indebted to the first lady for her donation.

Dr Kalumba said this in Kasama during the fundraising venture for people living with disabilities in the region organised by the provincial administration held at Lunzuwa gardens.

He said so far over k160, 000 has been realised from the initial targeted amount of K500, 000 for the project.

‘Dr. Kalumba said the funds will go towards the construction of a one by four  poultry house, one fish dam, the purchasing of 2000 layers and goats as a start-up capital for the beneficiaries in Kasama before the projects rolls out to other parts of the province.

However, the permanent secretary urged the beneficiaries and officers who will be given the responsibility to run the project to be prudent in the utilisation of the project’s funds.

He warned that any misappropriation of such funds will attract punitive measures because the money is meant for the vulnerable people who face numerous challenges to fend for themselves  in society.

Speaking at the same event, Zambia Agency for people living with disabilities (ZAPD) board chairperson Julian Mwape paid a glowing tribute to Government for addressing challenges faced by the differently disabled persons in the province.

She also advised every disable person to be equal to the task just as the able bodied people to spar the country’s economic agenda.

Meanwhile prominent among high profile figures who pledged towards the noble cause were Northern Province minister, Brian Mundubile, mines Minister Christopher Yaluma who each pledged K10, 000.

While special assistant to the president for politics Kaizer Zulu pledged K 15, 000 and Dr. Jobbicks Kalumba offered K7, 000.

    • BA MAYO ba Ester whose money is this you are distributing? Where did you get this money from? Only yesterday you were called Bana Daliso, a humble woman married to a humble man, suddenly you are a millionaire! Stop it and go and tell your hubby that we are doing a wrong thing. You will come out cleaner amid all the confusion that has shrouded everyone on the Zambian political arena.
REFLECT AND DO THE RIGHT THING. YOU’LL GO DOWN AS HAVING CHANGED THE WORLD. DO YOU NOT HAVE A CONSCIOUS TO ASK YOURSELF HOW SUDDENLY YOU HAVE TO DISTRIBUTE SUCH AMOUNTS OF MONEY WHICH IS NOT YOURS? Speak to ECL alone in the Bedroom about all these wrongs and re-channel and change the Country and the world.

    • Esther takes money to xxx on behalf of YYY and not the way you have glorified her as if it is her own money from Nomad’s account.

  1. Where does she get the money from when she is not on a salary? She has been donating money after money but where does she get the money from???? Was she also reach before becoming first lady?

  2. Anyina Daliso stay home advise your drunken thieving husband to do the right thing! When the day of reckoning comes you will not be spared! Have you no shame to deprive another civil servant of a house by retaining/maintaining the ministerial house you occupied when your husband was minister for your children? What kind of mother and wife are you that does not have a conscience?

  3. AT LEAST SHE SHARING THE MONEY WITH THE POOR ….SOME CHARACTERS ARE SO GREEDY AND SELFISH “ÄKASO” EVEN AFTER STEALING SO MUCH FROM THE MINES..ALL WE HAVE SEEN ARE MANSIONS..AND BOASTING OF BEING THE RICHEST PEOPLE IN ZAMBIA….CANNOT EVEN REHABILITATE THEIR FORMERS SCHOOLS..

  4. Money from her purse ? The state should be providing money for the development of such projects, what’s the ministry of social and health care services doing ? Or which ever ministry that’s in charge of the disabled ? Mrs Lungu is depleting her family cash savings, her hubby should also release some of that tax payers money and give it back. I like a generous giver … hand to mouth …?
