3 reasons why PF and President Lungu should go

Share

Corruption

When we elect leaders, we give them tools to investigate crimes against the people of Zambia, the investigation may turn out with nothing, but its findings should be provided to the people of Zambia seeking the answers.
Since the Fire Trucks scandal, the people of Zambia have been asking for verifiable information and documents regarding the purchase of 42 fire trucks at $42 million (meaning 1 truck cost Zambia $1,000.000 equivalent of K10,000,000). This information has been hard to obtain from Mr. Lungu and his Cabinet of his entire government.
With regard to the cost of the dual road to be constructed between Lusaka and Ndola, cheaper labor in the African Southern region allows our neighbors to construct roads at half a million dollars ($500,000) per/km. How then is Mr Lungu and PF government allowing projects to go on at $3.7 million per/km – nangu ni corruption, bushe nifi?

Violence

The Zambia Constitution gives the President power to protect every Zambian from the enemies within and outside Zambia. The unprecedented levels of physical violence and threats under Mr. Lungu leadership has never been seen in the Zambian history. He has used the police to rise against the people of Zambia, violence of Zambians against Zambians is at its highest levels and a common phenomenon. Freedom of speech and assembly is no longer free. If the President with all the instruments of power under his disposal the president is failing to protect the citizens of Zambia, we ask, what is your job Mr. President?

Unemployment

Youth unemployment is at all time high and this is a time bomb waiting to destabilize the nation if not properly managed and corrected now. The economy has been growing at meager 2 to 3 %. At its highest 3% growth with bank interest rate in the 30s, there is no possible way to create meaningful and tax paying employment no matter how much we pray or fast. Unemployment, corruption, bad economies, violence, mismanagement and other human failures are not spiritual and cannot be heaped on God’s feet. We must solve these, but we must start with those in office. We ask ourselves, are they solving our problems? If you take $42 million to support small businesses, you are the solution, but if you can’t explain where the money is, then you are the problem.

In two years as President, Mr. Lungu has only managed to establish one theme; “Traveler in Chief”

In other words, he could have easily established himself as:

  • “Jobs President”
Carrying the nation to become the net exporter of food than importing.
  • “Healthcare Champion”

Botswana: Infant mortality rate: total: 8.6 deaths/1,000 live births.
Egypt: Infant mortality rate: total: 19.7 deaths/1,000 live births.
Zambia: Infant Mortality Rate: 70 per 1,000 live births;”Abantu”

  • “Education Transformation Leader”.

-Rally the nation to a common theme of every child read and write by the 4th grade.
-Compulsory schooling from grade 1 to 12th grade – no dropping out.
-Every Zambian child should access a computer by year 2030.
-Why build military barracks now? Why not put desks or building modern schools WIFI ready classrooms?

Mr. Lungu and the PF have failed us and it’s time for them to go. No amount of violence against Zambians will change this. Goodwill and support from the Zambian people will.

    • This is embarrassing;Botswana: Infant mortality rate: total: 8.6 deaths/1,000 live births.
Egypt: Infant mortality rate: total: 19.7 deaths/1,000 live births.
Zambia: Infant Mortality Rate: 70 per 1,000 live births;”Abantu”
For those not in the know, infant mortality is a proxy for development

    • Address the issues raised, as usual you attack the bearer of facts. Debate and present counter arguments. Why do you want his details do you want to panga him?

    • Valid points. One must be honest with the state of affairs as they are. If anything there are more points this chap couldve raised on agriculture, on social welfare, on bureaucratic tendencies of govt, lack of seriousness in improving sanitation in townships, market places, prisons etc

    • The writer forgot that PF is a criminal organisation with a convicted THIEF at the helm. He is surrounded by hard core bandits as his advisers. Expecting them to work as a normal govt should is asking too much and misplaced. Evidence of criminal activity is out there and the writer has pointed out a few.

    • Forensic analysis of the writer:
      – Diaspora failure
      – John solye ubwali
      – Armchair critic
      – not smart enough to hold public office

    • @ Katondo boys

Are you RIGGING ELECTIONS AGAIN ?????

To be believed you need to make your thieving CREDIBLE!

Ant Zambian can see that more than 2000 LT votes is a FRAUD, just like the ECZ was for Lungu.

Thank you for PROVING the 2016 election WAS STOLEN !!!!!!

    • Please ba writer, winning depends on more factors than the three you have raised.
PF will still win not because of rigging, but because they are contributing to the development of Zambia. Zambia is not the way it was in 2011 when PF came to power.
Yes they need to improve in some areas. But they are far better than a tribal party that always talks of wanting to fix people from other provinces.
Objective People know it is better to have a humble president than a bitter one who disrespects poor people. We all know how his intellegent poor Veep was replaced by a Rich dalo Veep. Over my dead body, the bitter man will never get my family’s votes.

    • John Mulele, you are such a “dull man” . Please re-read the article and addres the issues that the writer had raised. Surely, are we going to settle for any “fooool” to be president just because we don’t want HH? So you can settle to Kaiser Zulu for president as long as it’s not HH?

  1. You have just picked Botswana and Egypt. How about Benin, Congo DRC, Cameroon, Nigeria, Malawi? We are not going anywhere, you DIMWITS.

    • why only pick countries doing better than Zambia? How are these countries doing in economic terms? literate levels? Do these and many factors have a bearing on the mortality? Try to compare oranges with oranges and bananas with bananas and not oranges with bananas

    • Mungatelo
Typical of PF benchmarking themselves with failed states. We did not vote for you to turn us into Congo or Malawi. If you fail to compare with the best pass on the baton.

  2. Africa cannot develop if citizens condemn those who are speaking for them with knowledge.
A fire tender by DONG FENG a Chinese Motor Manufacturing Company with a branch in Zambia shows the cost of an equivalent FIre Tender at $45,000 F.O.B.Meaning landed cost in Zambia is about $60,000.For $1,000,000 you’d have you’d buy 17!These are durable with a Mitsubishi Engines
How then can a sensible person condemn those who are saying Africans are not poor but those who rule them steal from them ,unless of course they are sick and need psychiatric treatment?

    • The people in the 6.5 provinces dont see anything wrong with the cost of fire tenders, corruption and violence. So get out of here!

    • The FIre Tenders that broke the camel’s back. Even kids are now using FIre Tender as phase for stealing from parents, shame

    • I call yours blind following!! Right now Zambia has rubbish opposition, upnd is tribal, undemocratic and have mediocre politicians like GBM, Nalumango, Katuka, etc who have been trying to do the same thing over and over to sell hh but the result is just the same: hh still can’t get a seat outside the bantustans!! Madness don’t you think??? Tell me, would any of the above have been VP to Mwanawasa, Sata or FTJ??? Why shouls PF go??

  3. I would only mention one but it is resounding. The statistics are favorable, in any ordinary sense we should be doing very fine. But the reason why there is no cash is due to corruption. There is mass corruption in the PF Government and this cannot be hidden. Fiscal discipline is second to corruption and anyone who challenges can pay with their job. It is almost like Mutati was brought in to say- “cover our backs statistically as we plunder”.

  4. What is the GDP per capita of Botswana copied to Zambia? Don’t compare oranges and apples. Botswana spends more per capita on health than South Africa for example and is not in the same developmental level as Zambia.

    • Therein lies the problem; wrong priorities and failure to appreciate the fundamental issues that the citizenry face and work towards improving the standards. Why can learn from economic policies of other countries as they relate to mining industry so we can maximise the benefits of this and other natural resources that the country is endowed with?? Corruption and plunder are some of the basic problems!

  5. The writer of this article is a total *****, irresponsible, lacking proper analysis on many governance issues. I am not sure if the writer was dreaming, or if he even understands what he was writing about. Help people make good decisions by giving them factual and verifiable information, not day-dream articles. I wont say much, you are just wasting my time anyways.

  6. Amongst the main reasons should be included DIVISION and TRIBALISATION of the public service. It is very dangerous to continuue on this path.

  7. Freedom of expression is sacrosanct under the Zambian constitution. Any individual can enjoy it, preferably in a responsible manner. The One million dollar fire engine has received a public outcry in the country. However, the existing administrative procedures were followed. Consequently, the parties that are not satisfied are free to pursue any lawful mans to have the matter re-examined. In this regard, the Green Party has zealously contacted European partners to seek an expert opinion on the same case. The moral lesson out of the outcry is that government will not place new orders of the same fire engine.

    • “The moral lesson out of the outcry is that government will not place new orders of the same fire engine.”

But they will over spend some where else…..

  8. Please let President Lungu continue with his efforts to build Zambia and take it to higher levels of Sustainable National Development.
You are right President Lungu hasn’t been responding to some Complaints about Gross Human Rights Violations, Corruption and other crimes being committed on his watch, under the guise of National Security.
It is also true that President Lungu can not spend all the time answering complaints presented via Social Media. It is desirable that an office is created at State to handle Problems and Complaints( Written or Verbal),even those presented via Social Media.
It is unfortunate that President Lungu is surrounded by people with hidden agenda who are bent on Decampaigning him and tarnishing his name and that of the country, both at home and abroad.
    Those…

    • The mark of a leader is measured by the quality of his lieutenants. Don’t blame his failures on the incompetents he surrounds himself with. The buck stops at him. Besides, we elected him, not his legion of incompetents.

Ati “let Lungu…” Let Lungu do what? The man has no focus. The writer of the article said he could focus a champion one out of many things and build legacy around it. But the man is doing too little about everything and everything is being overshadowed by the force of corruption.

You don’t give extra time to somebody who is clearly defeated.

  9. Now if Lungu goes who replaces him HH! I for one dont see anything better than Lungu in HH .
1 corruption is his food ,the amassed wealth he cannot substantiate.
2 violence his party so violent to his opposion those who dont belong to his party are killed or their property stolen or looted.
3 Tribalism in his party if you dont belong to his tribe no chance to be president.
To me I dont think he has anything to offer zambians appart from divisions in the country .
To crown it all he stole jobs from zambians when under priced companies so he could by the on a song .

  10. Poor upnd cadre. The problem like infant mortality or whatever you call it didn’t just drop as soon as Edgar became president. At my local hospital non of the babies born there this year has died. Don’t waste your time on lies.

    • Ati at my local hospital…….so you think because you have 3 Meals a day every Zambian is affording 3 meals ?

    • And you’re the refugees HH is talking about. Those 3 meals don’t drop from the skies. I work for them. Just come back and see how those who work hard are enjoying life. Why should I worry about someone who whenever I pay them, the first thing they buy is a packet of shake shake? I pay those who assist me at the farm and all they do is drink, fornicate and fail to turn up for work the following day.

  11. Lets be truthful with ourselves us voters…..If we took an introspective serious look, did we honestly expect anything better from PF??? For me the saddest thing is the people that can actually support what is going on in the name of being a PF supporter. They will support anything as long as it is PF. I bet their even people who if PF said lets cancel education they would blindly support. Just because you are PF does not mean everything PF should be fine with you. The article pin points serious issues and yet others chose to denigrate it in the name of being a PF supporter….shame on you!!!

  12. Lungu will be found to be the most corrupt president ever…..his only hope of avoiding jail will be to creat a lungu dynasty to rule Zambia….and those blaming his advisors are just apologists for the corruption and violence going on.

After spending $17 billion Zambians should be by now riding on a crest of developmental benefits…and lungu should be enjoying 90% approval ratings……but the man is just a corrupt violent thug not fit for the job. ……even the little benifits seen in the economy are due to nature…good rains for agriculture and Kariba dam…

  13. The same ECL you hate(upnd) will rule up to 2021 and beyond. If you want ( upnd haters) go RILLA ODINGA routes.VIVA PF , viva ECL .

  14. PF government is a regime reeking with corruption from the head who condones it and will not reprimand those in his cabinet who are steeped in it. Mulusa who broke ranks with rest and called the crazy priced fire tenders “wheel burrows” in comparison to others for the same price is being hounded out of government by the appointing authority – for choosing to stand on the right side of history and going against the flow which is compromised and supporting and abating corruption! Shame!

  15. Zambians talk talk too much and spend more time on social media…..get up go and work!….busy fire truck this, corruption this, mean while you have done nothing for yourselves!

  16. I know of a Chali who I loved. This one is dull.
40% of water in East Africa, Central Africa and South Africa is in Zambia. Zambia therefore has a lot of mosquitoes. A lot of children die from malaria with more than 100 per 1000 dying in Luapula.

The death rates in Angola, Mozambique, Malawi and Democratic Republic of Congo are far worse than Zambia.Angola’s death rate is 180 per 1000.

Zambia is much better than many African countries.

In 1964 the death rate was 113 I am happy with the improvements we have made. Yes we can do more but let us not be derailed by haters.

  17. Some pipo doest even know how it feels to be taxed from their salaries this is y we ‘ve got rights to do checks and balances for our monies we are not cadres tht just talk from without to hell if you are one of them

  18. The writer has clearly pointed out three reasons why PF must be removed from power. Why are the paid up cadres avoiding to challenge the discussion! Give us proof of a country selling those fire trucks for $1m. Tell us why people are missing in Zambia. Challenge us that there is employment for the yourhs with figures. Zambia belongs to all of us and we are affected by the corruption going on. Èven the provinces you are proud of have changed camp you are in denial and living in the past. Kambwili comes up with facts try and challenge him, we are watching and change will surely happen. Carry pn fooling yourselves.

  19. Hazaluza Hagain! We are tired of your unfounded bias! It is tribal not principle! Namwala, we are tired of you, please go away!
