President Edgar Lungu is expected to undertake a three-day state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt starting from Tuesday, November 14th until 16th, 2017.

During the visit, President Lungu will undertake various engagements which are of mutual benefit and interest to both Zambia and Egypt.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Egypt Topply Lubaya confirmed the development to ZANIS in Cairo, Egypt today.

Major General Lubaya (Rtd) said while in Egypt, President Lungu will hold bilateral talks with his host President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during which the two leaders will discuss a wide range of issues on bilateral, regional and global matters that concern their countries.

“The President is also expected to among other engagements, undertake site visits to the Arab Industrial Authority, the Suez Canal Fisheries Establishment and the Economic Industrial Zone,” he explained.

Gen. Lubaya further said the visit is also expected to result into the signing of some memorandums of understanding (MOUs) in among other areas, tourism, youth and sport and health sectors.

He noted that the agreements are expected to enhance the already existing social and economic ties between the two countries.

“Zambia and Egypt enjoy warm bilateral relations dating back from way back when we (Zambia) just got our independence. So we hope this visit will renew the relationship that has existed from time immemorial,” he said.

Gen. Lubaya disclosed that Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mwanakatwe and Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya will accompany President Lungu to Egypt.

He said the Ministers will also be accompanied by some senior government officials.

President Lungu is expected to return to Zambia after winding up his state visit to Egypt on Thursday, November 16th, 2017.

    • What a name, “Topply ” but kwena this PF government of Lungu must go 2021 is too far let’s get rid of this Lazy Kamwendo munjira president. This man is all over the place and that’s more money wasted

    • Vinabwela mo chedwa!!!!

Jonathan is a drain on our beautiful country. This drunkard is an embarrassment to our country. If we as Zambians get measured by Jonathan’s standards, then we are below the rubbish pile.

    • The man knows nothing about geo-politics one minute he is with the Israelis next minute he is with their enemy the Egyptians. The Lazy foool is happy to tour without shame whilst his hosts are busy working as he has no priorities!!

    • Kapwepwe’s life in UNIP began drawing to an end when he was linked with rumours of a new party called the United Progressive Party (UPP) that had been formed on the Copperbelt. He did not own up until Kaunda dismissed four cabinet ministers on suspicion of being clandestine members of the new party. In August 1971, Kapwepwe resigned from UNIP and the government and announced that he was, indeed, the leader of UPP. In December 1971 he won a by-election for the Mufulira West constituency, and became his party’s sole representative in parliament. Kaunda was not pleased with this development. So, on 4 February 1972, he banned UPP and imprisoned 122 members of the party, including Kapwepwe. Kaunda’s excuse was that UPP was an instrument of the Rhodesian, South African and Portuguese…

    • VASCO DA GAMA A.K.A. Kamwendo Munjila is now in the Guinness World Record as the most traveled Head of State in the world.

In 2 years, LAZY has traveled to more countries than KK, FTJ, Mwanawasa & Sata combined. What a shame!

I don’t know why pipo from Chipata are so fascinated with planes.

    • He has a world map pinned on the bedroom wall and sticks a pin on each country he visits. As a taxpayer it hurts to imagine I make a contribution to fund these trips and I am not given a change to sanction or decline these trips! He should enter the Guiness Book of Records as the most travelled president and counting!!! Totally unjustified!!

    • His neighbour Magufuli is very busy transforming Tanzania into an economic powerhouse while the charlatan is also busy on a drinking spree.

    • This guy did not put himself in that position, its you the electorates even when you knew he was not the right man for the job. So don’t complain just enjoy his tours, I’m pretty sure by the time his term finishes there will be nothing left in the country coffers.

    • Which leader just sits in his state house like a King or Queen? These days even Queens and Kings travel for official business. If your leader is going to sit in state house , how is he expected to attract investment, collaborate development efforts with his or her Colleagues? The only thing that our Zambiian media never report is that there are technocrats and or business interests on these trips. Our media’s interest are politicians.

  1. ..this is going to extreme now…I was hoping the challenger will ‘rest’ and undergo major service…mmmmmmm..??…takwabapofye….

    • The man can not stay one month in State House, he will long for any excuse to go to the airport…utterly useless lazy bum!!

    • Guy’s please no head of state hopes their country would develop while he is at statehouse. HH already travels more than any opposition, just to put Zed in a bad light. Pls guys stop being childish understand the role of a head of state before u exhibit your ignorance.

  2. Uyo! Uyo! Uyo! It was such a shocking surprise that he was in Lusaka for two days. Its time for him to go “home” again

  3. Where are those Egyptian Terrorists to help us save jet fuel money again…Lazy Lungu has been itching for this trip to sign overpriced deals with Egyptian Construction companies!!

    • These people have never sweated for anything..its no wonder he gets surprised when people tell him that a Scania Fire Truck can not cost $1 million or an Ambulance costing $230-280K

  4. Travel well my president!!atleast now we cant complain because you have reduced your foreign trips!!
Now Kainde beats you on this one because just recently he travelled to South Africa and UK!!!am sure Kainde also can be “kamwendo munjila” if he won though that could only be in 2099!!!
WE ARE BEHIND YOU PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU!!!come 2021 it will be PF nafuti nafuti!!

  5. He should carry the other guy who wants to be in his seat in his brief case! At least he can fly with him on the Presidential Jet to Egypt! And I think madonkis will be happy – very happy!

  6. Lungu its jobs ,economic growth ,fighting corruption and rule of law that should be your “state visits”.

Stop getting addicted to honour guards, the challenger jet and state banquets.

    • That flight to Ndola yesterday to watch the match got him very excited…am sure the Egyptian authorities are wondering Lazy is eager to visit amid security concerns!!

    • Apparently reckless Lazy Lungu is going undertake site visits to the Arab Industrial Authority, the Suez Canal Fisheries Establishment and the Economic Industrial Zone…really laughable for 3 days…you wonder why he can not delegate this to the Commerce Minister. If he wants to sign MOUs he can sign them here in Lusaka at Egyptian embassy!!

  7. Last time he went to view vegetables. Maybe he did have time to check on Egyptian museums hence another trip. Believe me Freedom Sikazwe doesn’t miss tourist trips am sure he is among the tourist deligation with Kaizer Zulu.

  8. The favourite toy jet will soon explode mid air, too much usage with these frequent visits ! Health risks too _ deep vein thrombosis !! Relax and spend quality time with wife and the country .

  9. He us visiting the suez canal fisheries establishment but not taking his fisheries and livestock minister,
Oh thats right he is a man. Didnt see agriculture msntioned yet the FEMALE agriculture minister is accompanying him. What can I say

  10. Just another thought isnt the suez canal sea water, wow we have a lot of seawater in zambia where we can adapt our freshwater fish to the sea. Forgot we are landlocked

  11. Vascoda Gama is at it again! There is a Bombshell coming from Concourt over Jonathan’s Term bid. Jonathan is a coward and trickster. Each time Jonathan has a crisis he runs away. That is the problem with stealing Elections and illegitimacy. The man is so insecure and running away from facing problems.

  12. Hmmmmml………this man can travel!! A week hardly elapses without setting his foot inside a plane. How I wish in this country state house or ministry of foreign affairs could tabulate the Presidential trips undertaken in a year and clearly describe and show the benefits it has brought to the Zambian people.

  13. The problem with UPND cohorts ALL they WISH is to SEE the death of ECL, SURELY why so EVIL and WICKEDNESS? And THEY expect to WIN – presidential elections in NON-TONGA- lands? Above comments ALL point AT ANNIHILATION of ECL , these comments comes out of malice and THEIR USUAL TRIBALISM or TRIBAL remarks.HE is NOT going to die at the wish of UPND minions, only GOD alone can claim his life AND himself if he want NOT upnd morons.AGAIN one POINT UPNDs should KNOW is WHENEVER EC/ or president AT LARGE is invited by any NATION , BILLS,EXPENSES and COSTS are being taken CARE OF by the same NATIONS which invites the president unless for extra delegates. If he is invited it’s WELL done FOR the country.

  14. Forgive the UPND under 5’s.They have zero experience in government business.
Simply ignore their ignorance and continue with the economic diplomacy program which is very well budgeted for.
It’s a state visit but hurts the UPND members’s illusions.
The President has made great moves as regards South Africa when he visited.
Only people from Dundunwezi cannot not see anything good about Zambia.

  15. It would interesting to see this man’s in tray at the office. As president its not everything he can delegate. A lot of issues of national importance require his attention. At the rate he travels what time does he devote to important issues? I suspect his in tray must be full to overflowing! He has to be a magician to claim he is on top things and is efficient. He has forgotten he is an employee of those who voted for him and the taxpayer who works hard to fund this jolly trips.

  16. Mr. P and the fuel for the president’s jet is paid for by ???????? You forgot to give an opinion on that and you evedence that all those other costs are paid for by other country. Don’t think so my friend
Can you point out in the aricle where it says he was invited

  17. All expenses paid for by host country and Zambia does not offer any contribution towards the trip ? I fail to understand the reasoning behind this. It reminds me of when one has visitors from the village who expect you to pay for their transport both ways and for the upkeep, of course through no fault of their own or through their lack of good planning.
So Egypt has paid for the fuel, jet maintenance, accommodation, etc !! I would be ashamed ….makes one look like a free loader!!

  18. Let him, he is going to watch the belly dance performed by beautiful Egyptian women . He got sick in Swaziland

  19. Dear Zambians please don’t Punic. He is not gonna spend your tax payers money for this Egypt and his next flight to Cameroon to see sugar cane plantation on 26th November. Remember he is a frequent flyer and has accrued so many miles to fly free for next four trips.
