Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo has dispelled social media reports that police wants to arrest the largest opposition leader for united party for national development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema.
Mr. Kampyongo has described such reports as baseless.
He has told journalist in Lusaka that fears that the UPND leader is going to be arrested is a clear indication of cowardice.
He says police can only arrest people deemed to be law breakers and not innocent citizens.
Mr. Kampyongo says Mr. Hichilema should therefore stop fearing his own shadow.
Meanwhile UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango has expressed disappointment that Mr. Kampyongo is unaware that police have been pursuing its leader Hakainde Hichilema.
Ms. Nalumango indicates that police have recently stormed the UPND on suspicion of the party keeping dangerous weapons.
By broadcast time, UPND Cadres and sympathizers have surrounded Mr. Hichilema’s house, amid fears of his alleged scheduled arrest by the police.
You can’t just shut your mouths off? Do you really have to comment on everything? If anything the only comment we need now should be coming from Lungu about corruption and cabinet ministers’ resignations etc…He still hasn’t said anything
So Kampyongo, tell us which law HH broke when you detained him for 127 days? How much was this operation? Would the money and resources used on a baseless treason charge have been better used to improve water and sanitation in Kanyama and prevent cholera?
As usual what ever PF minions say the direct opposite is the truth.
So take Kapyongo s refusal as implying that the PF cadres want to raid HH to steal more money from him.
Lungu should be warned that this time their efforts of trying to poison HH will be met with full force.
If Lungu tries to arrest HH again soldiers are prepared to relieve him of his presidency. Soldiers and their relatives have had enough of suffering from Lungu s PF.
Why are they arresting him, he is not in muchinga.
This cadre only to emerge and comment rubbish, for u it will be a genuine treason waiting u.
The UPND media and WHATSAPP groups are peddling lots lies which will consume the party. Lots of these blind followers of the lies look foolish when they are reminded that the message they forwarded was not true. We hope the story that HH is about to be arrested is just another lie. And the cadres surrounding HH’s just want food because they cannot stop the arrest if they police wanted to. The cadres should go home and be with their families.
Mudala ba Kampyongo forget HH and just tell your officers to stop mounting these fake ATM road blocks they are de campaigning you in 2021 and it shows a complete lack of respect in your authority as a Minister from your senior police officers who abrogate your directives. Today ati no road blocks then the next day there are 2 road blocks on a 10 km stretch???? What madness is this??? U can hide the Fire but u cannot hide the Smoke. Corruption, misgovernance , mismanagement and Cholera has stressed Lungu’s govt. They are looking for Scapegoats and arresting HH would be a good distraction though unwise. Now that drought is certain in 2018 ,there will be more pressure on the visionless PF Govt.

Zambian politics will never reach maturity despite of 53 years of independence. Political environment should be a right and conducive to every Zambian. Disband those militias the so-called cadres. Soldiers, ZNS and Police are just cleaners and farmers in Zambia in the name of cholera, maybe because there is no war Edgar use the soldiers to clean towns and ZNS to farm just like convicted prisoners, he keeps them in barracks like jail cells, police are respected more because they can even rent houses out of police camps. Real prisoners than convict’s.
Actually soldiers are meant to mitigate in times of disaster, war is just an unfortunate development.
ZNS even bring fresh maize and cabbage for sale in their trucks, they have been made real farmers, men in uniform used by civilians? Zambia the real African.

Ndande’s comments are worthy praising. Its easy to portion blames without offering an alternative. That’s being a pessimist. ZNS has an history how it was established. Looking from outside and start condemning everything is not a better of contributing to national dialogue. Here is a very good and important platform of sharing ideas. Unfortunately some are just negative in everything. Better learn to give praise where it’s due. I’m still saying that people should not be aligned to political parties, instead they should remain neutral, so that we look at those politicians who have good plans for our country.
