Minister of Higher Education Nkandu Luo says government is in the process of coming up with modalities to dismantle debt at the three public universities.

Professor Luo says the ministry plans to dismantle debt for the past 3 years which includes salaries for lecturers and statutory debt.

She said this when she addressed student union bodies from various colleges and universities in Lusaka.

The minister says the ministry came up with a committee to help find modalities of how to dismantle the debt.

And Professor Luo has disclosed that 36 million U.S dollars has been sourced to construct an Eleven storey building for health sciences at Ridgeway campus.

And representative of the student’s unions Enoch Kalange has called on government to prioritize the needs of learning institutions by helping create a conducive environment.

  1. DETAILS OF THE us$26 MILLION need to be availed to us the tax payers, is it a loan again or what? Remember nothing is for free, even at your age don’t just get gifts from men , u will find yourself Opening ur ntweno kane though its elasticity is gone now in plastic strain

  2. To dismantle debt. Just tell Edgar to pay from what he has stolen. By the way you Ministers owe Zambians a lot of money, where is it? That money should be going in UNZA and other universities and the health sector but obviously you don’t care. You think that debts can just be dismantled. What the hell is that? Is that Professorial language?

  3. This man will never cease to amaze me. Bragging of 11 storey ridgeway nonsense and yet failing to settle bills and salaries at the universities. This is real sh!thole country where we have ministers with scattered brains masquerading as professors. They fail to solve issues now and want to solve future issues – issues that are still hypothetical.
    What a disaster!

  4. So if it is eleven stories it will be a good institution? What has its height got to do with its being set up? Why not tell us what it will be intended to contribute to society. Why not tell us about the research that will come out of this place? You just focus on 11 storeys? Meaning Zambians should just look out for an 11 storey buidling at Ridgeway. Our priorities are what gives birth to the kind of leadership we have.

  5. So with all the challenges our three public universities are facing, some one finds it prudent to construct two brand new universities in Chisali?
