The Kasama Municipal Council on Monday closed Shoprite supermarket for violating the Public Health Act.
And Council Public Relations Assistant Officer, Caroline Simumba told Journalists that a warning notice was issued on the premises on the 27th June to abate the nuisance within 24 hours.
Ms. Simumba added that after several verbal and a written warning notices, no action had been taken by Shoprite to abate the defects.
Meanwhile, the local authority has given a 24 hours ultimatum to Lions Club Bar to control its loud music, improve sanitary conditions and to stick to permitted operating hours.
