Tourism and Arts Minister, Charles Banda says investigations have revealed that African Wild Dogs that have allegedly vanished from the Liuwa National Park migrated to Angola.

Mr. Banda says the wild dogs are at Misuma National park in Angola.

The Minister told ZNBC News that it is normal for animals to migrate and that at no point did Government sale or give the animals away.

Mr. Banda has appealed to people surrounding the Liuwa National Park not to panic over alleged missing wild dogs.

Last week, Liuwa Area Warden Gabriel Masaku said the wild dogs were last spotted in the park in 2013 and that operations to establish their whereabouts have proved futile.

Addressing concerns raised by traditional leaders during Lewanika Community Resource Board -CRB- meeting held in Kalabo Council Chamber, Mr. Masaku said it was difficult to trace the wild dogs because they had not been fitted with satellite collars.

Meanwhile, Mr. Banda says government has not forgotten about the Ngoma Awards.

He says the awards will be back, as soon as the National Theatre and Arts Association of Zambia -NATAZ- puts its house in order.

  1. Oh no, we gonna miss our wild dogs, it’s always good to have a variety of wild species for tourists to get spoilt with fun. I wonder how we can lure them back home .

  2. What method was used to come to this conclusion? No merit. Like ZP conclusions always without evidence and logic. If indeed that happened still we Zambia needs to be concerned since this not seasonal.

  3. Just bring back our wild dogs. Don’t give us unsubstantiated explanation; what kind of migration are u talking about, from 2013 and this is almost the end of 2018. Animals migration on seasonal bases.
