The MCC Zambia Compact worked to reduce poverty and boost economic growth by improving the water supply, sanitation and drainage infrastructure in Lusaka, the rapidly urbanizing capital.

The compact also supported the government’s ongoing water sector reform efforts by strengthening partner institutions and facilitating potential private sector investment opportunities.

MCC’s investment in Zambia has created opportunities and improved the lives of Zambians living in Lusaka.

The lasting impact of the MCC Zambia compact is reduced flooding as a result of improved drainage infrastructure, increased access to water supply and sanitation as a result of improved water and sanitation infrastructure, and improved provision of services from the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company and the Lusaka City Council.

  1. It’s always gratifying to see people’s livelihoods uplifted from these major development projects. Great job USA and Great job Zambia. May God continue to bless Zambia!

    • MCC projects have been a major success in Zambia especially where the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise have demonstrated their ability to handle complexities of a fast growing city that outgrew planners capacity to focus growth.

It’s unbelievable what can be achieved when mutual respect from co-operating partners is at the center of any project. The Americans are a classic example of such co-operation.

The British on the other hand always want a horse and rider relationship and they wonder why they always have strained and antagonist results.

Kudos to MCC for demonstrating what it means to be partners in development.

  2. Americans have been great cooperating partners. Not like the tainted British Aid. We should do more with Americans and nothing with the British. In fact let the British go home and leave Zambia all together.

  3. The flee is sitting on the horse’s back note the fag of origin @ 1.1 complaining where the horse is going while eating free food

  4. When I see the Millennium Challenge Project take shape especially in Lusaka, Oh my God I just thank God for his mercies because sooner than later our people regardless of their status in society will have clean water at their door step and good water drainage system. In my own assessment, I now understand what a good and focused President we have in PF Government.
This project always reminds me that when we focus our energy and time on the promises we made to our people, all the noise that come from HH and UPND dont mean a thing. He is simply a destrroyer who doesnt want to see development and progress.
