Nkana’s friendly match against TP Mazembe has been cancelled after some Kalampa players were denied entry into DR Congo for unknown reasons.
The match was scheduled to take place on Sunday in Lubumbashi.
Nkana had spent several hours at Kasumbalesa border on Saturday attempting to enter Congo before throwing in the towel late in the afternoon.
Club Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya said qNkana aborted the trip after some players were denied entry into Congo.
“They (immigration ) just had a number of issues at the border. Some players were not allowed to go through so we couldn’t go as a team,” Chakatazya said.
Nkana are currently preparing for their CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage play-off against San Pedro of the Ivory Coast.
The Wusakile club will host Pedro on 13 January in the first leg before travelling to West Africa a week later for the return match.
Nkana dropped to the Confederation Cup after being eliminated from the Champions League at the pre-group stage.
Just as well. Why do you want to bring Ebola to Zambia?!
It’s common sense ba Nkana. The situation in Congo is still volatile. Whoever made this arrangement did not use his senses. Thanks for the diplomacy by immigration officers. Ba Nkana you shud have read between the lines. Salapukeni ba Nkana
Comment:nkana you should have gone to Angola. they are good and experience teams there. all you wanted was to compare to zesco
Zimbabwe and South Africa Teams are GOOD place for PREPS.
Try them.
Go Kalampa!
Nkana management have no brains ,first Congo is not safe for players ,second there is Ebola there and third they have a player or players who have changed there names to suit there stay in Zambia though they are Congolese.
Blame yourself for that. If you were serious, you should have applied for entry visa months in advance.
LEAVE NKANA ALONE NANGA TEAM YANYOKO ATASE
