An award-winning movie set in Zambia is among the films chosen by Emirates to showcase its innovative new inflight entertainment syncing system introduced this month.
Emirates, which flies daily direct from Lusaka to Dubai and Harare, has introduced an innovative new function on its app to allow customers to create bespoke playlists ahead of their flight and sync it to their seats once on board. Customers can plan their trip more effectively and maximise their onboard experience by using the Emirates app to browse the expansive entertainment catalogue at any time.
And among the exciting new movies featured is I am Not a Witch, which is set in Zambia and tells the story of an orphan who is declared a witch and banished to a commune of elderly “witches”. The film was nominated for and won a BAFTA in 2018.
The film is on the playlist for ice, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment, which has reached a new milestone of over 4,000 channels of on-demand entertainment.
Wow! There goes Zambia! On the world map once again. Well done Emirates and congrats to the production team of this movie
Witchcraft, of all things. Shame! Is that the best Zambia can offer in movies??
Isn’t witchcraft real? Don’t be hypocrites! What about Nigerian movies?
Iwe Suntwe, if it was Harry Potter im sure you were not going to be complaining
Good to select a Zambian movie but stay away from dark theme like withcraft. It reinforces outdated/ignorant beliefs which Zambians should not entertain in this age.
There’s this channel on DSTv called ‘Investigation Discovery’ on 171 where sad but true-life stories are aired. There’s a lot to learn from those stories in as much as they are horrible in nature
When things go wrong in Zambia the blame is on Lungu (ECL) but when things go right everyone is mute on Lungu? Just wondering!!!
How’s the movie connected to ecl or hh.leave politics out.u are the ones deciding people where not necessary
When was the last time things went right in Zambia??… 500, 000, jobs.. plus 1000000 jobs at the opening of parliament in 2016,…expensive tollgates unfair employment in government.. no ZAF, Army or ZNS public recruit since 2012/2013.. clowns appointed to public office.. ambulances.. firetender.. magical money.. january fair citizen 13 months later 25 million.. but no companies.. chinalisation of the country..social cash transfer to personal pockets.. private jets.. and the list is endless… just wondering….
Just did an essay on in-flight entertainment in tourism. It’s good to see Zambian travellers catered for.
