It will get better – Dr.Nevers Mumba

Share

MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba has bemoaned the dark cloud of negativity and hopelessness that continues to engulf Zambia. He noted the negative headlines and captions on social media platforms from Facebook to Twitter and WhatsApp.

“Everyday, on every turn, we read all the bad news in the papers. We are constantly exposed to, and bombarded with, more and more negative news with no sign of positivity. As a people, we are slowly degenerating into a people that only respond to, and that are hooked on negativity” he said.

Dr. Mumba said part of the mandate of the #NEW #HOPE movement is to seek out positive stories from people who are desire to see a better Zambia.

“We know that within our society, there are a lot of examples of the positive stories that can encourage us in our collective effort,”he said.

That single mother who is raising her child through school. That young man who, with little financial support scores high Mark’s in his final exams against all odds. That mother who sacrifices everything just for her children to have something to eat every day. That young lady who is making it in life without compromising herself

Dr.Mumba has challenged the Church, politicians ,schools and the press to share stories about how they are making a positive impact in their own lives and in society

If we want to see our country change for the better, we need to start reminding ourselves that it will get better, it can get better, and in a small way, it is slowly getting better.

“Remember the positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible,”he said.

  1. Zambia needs healing .perhaps we need those one Zambia one Nation slogans again. We have always been a peaceful people. This divisiveness is not us. Stop the negativity

  2. I expect to hear such statements from the Head of State and not an opposition leader. The people are fed up with these hollow opinions by various people every other day. A cut and clear statement from the President to reassure the nation that things are fine will go a long way in restoring confidence in the government than all these other appeasing messages.

  3. Bravo Dr Nevers Mumba keep up I totally agree we need hope in our beloved country of mother Zambia.Lets do away with politicians who think are miracle makers .you have my vote Nevers. How do these other politicians explain how they will change things they are helping to destroy.we have only one Zambia.

  4. THE PROBLEM WE HAVE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN LEADERSHIP OF THE DAY. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A SINGLE DAY THAT YOU WILL EVER HEAR THEM PREACH ABOUT PEACE. PEACE IS ONLY SHOWN AND HEAD IN THEIR MOUTHS EXTENDED TO THOSE THEY EAT AND DRINK TOGETHER..
WE ALL SEE DIRTY POLITICS OF WANTING TO ELIMINATE ALL THE CITIZENS WITH DIVERGENT VIEWS. PF FROM THE TIME OF ITS INCEPTION HAS NEVER ACCEPTED ITS MISTAKES LIKE THE WAY CHILUBA, MWANAWASA AND RB LEADERSHIP WERE.
TODAY WE SEE ALL OVER THE INSULTS FROM LEADERS POURING ON THE OPPOSITION EVERYDAY NOT KNOWING THAT THEY ARE PLANTING BAD SEED IN THE CHILDREN.

  5. Abena Nevers Mumba just say God has answered your prayers. We thank you, it is over.
My prayer was deleted by these evil LT, who wanted this “gas entertainment” nonsense to continue.
It is over, PRAYERS are answered.

  6. Ba Mumba, now that you have waken up from that stupor, think carefully before you jump around looking for a partner in politics. We know that the issues of bread are on the tablet of your heart but do not side with people that are out there to destroy our peace and tranquility for the sake of bread and butter. Likely you are in opposition, but remember you were fired once as a veep? Those things have not gone away and they will haunt you.

  7. Media is the same everywhere, they thrive on the negative but rarely mention all the positives that are happening. Negativity breeds negativity.
Media sensationalises and proliferate’ s on negativity just as some individuals do.
If positivity was the main read in media the population on a whole would have a much more positive outlook.
Here in New Zealand the media is exactly the same, thrives on the negativity.
    Same everywhere in the world.
    Think positive Zambian people.

  8. You were part of that group that cast that dark cloud of negativity on our land. You would go to RSA to denounce President Sara and PF. You are part of that group that has been having covert meetings with ALN and Brenthurst. No wonder MMD mps report to Rafa and Felix, they don’t value you. Go to a convention and let the real MMD leaders address the nation.

  9. The clergy giving hope to a traumatised population…..only some in positions of power boast about drinking imported whiskeys while the majority of their people suffer

The clergy can give hope , but if you live in a swamp , hope can only go so far , draining the swamp is a more long term solution.

  10. I know I will be a law maker in 2021 bit before I set my foot at parliament premises, I need to know what Seer 1 used to do at parliament in the night with some PF leaders. I am allergic to demons and demonic places. Dr Nevers Mumba please organise for prayers to cleanse parliament. Our laws are being made in a house that is full of demons.

  13. Zambians let us keep praying for our beloved nation there is no time to relax keep on praying for mother Zambia, the enemy is still with in the range prayer changes things our hope is in the Lord not any human being.
Let us pray and work and think and be active in doing good for our own people no hatred, hatred invites the wicked one but love is the only solution in the land and unity, uniting the people of God.
