United Party for National Development (UPND) President, Hakainde Hichilema told Zambians that obtaining a voters card in the ongoing voter registration card is the only way to ensure that the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) doesn’t continue occupying public office and continue inflicting pain on them.
Addressing thousands of Kabwata residents in Kabwata yesterday afternoon, Mr Hichilema stressed that the key to ending Zambia’s current economic woes and poverty was through obtaining voters card and voting correctly.
Mr Hichilema told the rally that it is no secret that the Patriotic Front government has inflicted poverty and hunger on the people of Zambia.
He appealed to all Zambians eligible to vote to ensure that they register and vote as that is the only way they can change government and vote for UPND a party with a heart to serve the people of Zambia.
Mr Hichilema assured the residents that UPND is aware of all games and deliberate inconveniences by the ECZ in the electoral process.
He said UPND will ensure that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) increases the number of its officials at polling stations and that the 30 days allocated for ongoing process is extended infinitely.
“Have you seen this (raising his voters card)? Ndiye mpolopolo iyi (this is the bullet!). If you come to a rally without a voters card, it means you don’t have enough ammunition needed to fire PF from public office and that means you will continue suffering,” charged Mr Hichilema.
“This thing (waving his voters card, again), even if it takes you to sleep on the queue for several days, better do that! And, if you do that, it will make you live a better life for the next ten, twenty or 30 years; you and your children and posterity,” he said
“This is it! We will fight for more registration machines and competent officers at all the polling stations because that’s what ECZ is supposed to do! Voters registration is supposed to be a continuous exercise because that is what the law states, ” he said.

Even the angels in Heaven know that Sunny Chintombwa aka Hakainde Hichilema the Cayman islands conman isn’t the answer to Zambia’s economic problems. He’s just a fraud trying to take advantage of the gullible Zambians but unfortunately for him we know who he really is

Well said, come election day Vote for HH, open your eyes fellow Zambians if you really want something better for your children lets give HH a chance. If he fails we will kick him out after 5 years.

Choice between the same & worse. Ever since Zambians started changing govts they move from bad to worse. Kk was bad, chiluba was worse. RB was bad Sata was a useless criminal, the EL turned out a disaster. So lets move to another mistake. But maybe its better a clueless mistake than what we have
So why not show it as it is? Showing smaller crowds when matitudes attended is biasness and affront to democracy. It plays in the hands of propaganda. To portray the unpopularity of the opponent. I ve always held LT as unbiasness news website. Like or not. HH commands 49.9% of voters in Zambia. That’s why he lost with that questionable 100, 000. Votes in 2016. Stop this biasness and allow people to vote and choose a leader of their choice. Without hindrance.
Key to ending Zambia’s current economic woes is cutting spending,wastage and abuse then restructuring to raise economic growth.
@ Yaks I am sure you were not at the rally. The rally was poorly attended. But those of us who were there were happy with the message. Some non partisan people might have been intimidated by the police in riot gear who kept vigil. That UPND will do these rallies in all the Lusaka Constituency is a plus. This time around the message was a shift from the usual corruption.
@Officially Fed Up, my view is that both Edgar Chagwa Lungi and Hakainde Hichilema shouldn’t be on the ballot paper. PF doesn’t mean Edgar Lungu and change doesn’t mean voting for Hichilema
Only a person with a dull reasonning will praise PF. All Zambians have changed their minds because of sufferings due to the PF reckless borrowings. Today 9 out of 10 want to change leadership.
Those you hear praising PF are enveloped with PF funding in order to speak out.
Let us all register to remove these croocks
Since when did voting mean you magically resolve economic issues caused by global economic down turn..how can some one stand up in front of poor people and lie through his ugly teeth so confidently. Zambian be careful with such people. He wants to come and finish off his theft of Zambia resources following privatisation

HH has privatization, tribalism on his CV. People do not want to entrust someone who has stolen from them before with another opportunity to do it again. After 10 to 20 years he is talking about he will Zambians were sleeping during the time.
The only hope for Zambia. No matter what they may say, the country is in proper governance and economic decline. 9 years of steady decline. Don’t argue with me just check the economic stats even on government websites. MMD left a relatively good economy with no comparison with what is going on now. To come back in 2021 and do what?
HH Please soldier on the country is solidly behind you. We will not listen to the poo technician. Come and sort out this mess which is all over. And remember there is no confidence right now from the international community. Come and sort out this auto piloting and put the country on a progressive trajectory.

Let me just quote that union of intellectuals called UNZARALU who said only those that don’t understand realities on the ground can vote for PF, I have just made the statement mild, otherwise they were hard hitting. Why would one be voting for PF when the economic mess is all over, infact this is a no contest.
We had a lot of hope in 2011, came out in numbers celebrating PF’s victory with decent macro economic stats from MMD, not realizing that that was our down fall. This is not the Zambia we all dreamt of. This should teach all of you that the leaders you choose make a difference in your lives. How can a countries currency depreciate by 52% and some people think that that could be normal. NO. NO, even a foul should refuse to accept such mediocre performance. I am non partisan but I wont accept such. Everything has crumbled.
Our economy was already in the dust before covid19 hit the nation, PF has just failed speaking for myself am voting differently next year.
