Nigerian pastor and televangelist TB Joshua has died, according to social media posts on his official Twitter account and news reports.

He was 57.He was the leader and founder of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a church that runs the Emmanuel television station in Lagos, Nigeria.

According to his official Twitter account, Joshua died on Saturday.

TB Joshua Ministries said on Sunday the Nigerian evangelist has died at the age of 57, a week before his birthday.

The Lagos-based Joshua, born June 12 1963, died on Saturday of an undisclosed illness.

The organisation’s statement said: “God has taken his servant Prophet TB Joshua home – as it should be by divine will. His last moments on Earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for and died for.”

The Synagogue, Church of All Nations and Emmanuel TV Family appreciate your love, prayers and concern at this time and request a time of privacy for the family.”

Joshua was a controversial, self-proclaimed prophet. Many had called for him to be held accountable after the September 2014 collapse of his church, the Synagogue of All Nations.

In July 2015, a coroner’s inquest found the collapse was a result of negligence. Some of the families accepted cash payments in compensation while others lodged lawsuits.

More recently, his YouTube account was shut down after he claimed to “cure” gay congregants of their homosexuality during one of his sermons.

  4. This goes to show that the Word of God is not about miracles or healing or riches but it is about listening and being obedient to the Word of God.

  5. TB Joshua was ordinary flesh and blood. He was therefore destined to die and he has. At only 58, it was definitely before his time.

  8. My sister has a picture frame on her bedroom wall with TB Joshua in it. I wonder what she’ll do with it? On his cause of death, why is it not disclosed? Probably covid. Thought he’d pray it away but failed or an embarrassing ailment.

  9. Good riddance…Africa doesn’t need such selfish businessmen selling snake oil to the poor masses.
We need more people like that radical entrepreneur like Dumisani Lingamani Ncube who is inspiring young people opening up their minds to what is on their door step yes at a small price but for right reasons.

  11. @collinsm I also wonder if someone is using mbesuma name. What do you think? You can choose. I know who i am and don’t need to prove it to you. I am sure you can read my name. I am the only one here brave enough to show my face and name. The rest of you hide behind f.a.k.e names.

  14. Nostra….. – You believe the claptrap in the bible about a fictional character …really laughable …your ancestors left pyramids with the bones buried there with messages for you and it predates Christianity but there is no evidence of this Jesus or his disciples.
Wake up from your docility ..its the reason why this Joshua made a lot of money out of this folly!!

  15. TB Joshua was the closest to the devil, he was the biggest deceptor to come out of Africa, he was a master manipulator, a charlatan, the biggest of them all. He ruined so many people’s lives who lost their properties and all their hard earned money because of his false promises of ‘sowing the seeds’ which ended up in his personal B a n k A c c o u nt ,, while they remained poor . Finally his deception of over 3 decades has come to an end. Not even his f a k e anointing oil he was scamming people with could help him!

  16. If TB Joshua had gullible followers, Seer1 has questionable discipleship. It pains me to even know what type of followers Andrew Ejimadu (Seer1 ) has in Zambua.
Comparing the two “prophets”, TB vs AE, the later seems to be liked by the most naive people. I can drop 1000 tears for TB but nill for AE.
