PF should brace for harder, oppressive times – Lubinda

Share

Former Minister of Justice, Given Lubinda, has warned the Patriotic Front (PF) to brace themselves for oppressive times ahead as the United Party for National Development (UPND) becomes more tyrannical. Lubinda’s comments come in response to the vulgarities and invectives that have been directed towards former President Edgar Lungu by his successor, President Hakainde Hichilema.

Lubinda, who is a former member of the PF and now serves as an independent member of parliament, has cautioned that the UPND is threatened by the PF’s growing strength, unity, and popularity. He believes that the governing party will employ all dictatorial schemes in the book to annihilate the former ruling party, so that it can have an easy passage to victory in the 2026 elections.

The former minister’s warning comes amidst a heated political climate in Zambia, with tensions running high between the ruling UPND and the opposition PF. The UPND came to power in August 2021, after winning a decisive victory in the presidential elections. However, since then, there have been reports of harassment, intimidation, and violence directed towards opposition party members and supporters.

According to Lubinda, the recent invectives directed towards former President Lungu by President Hichilema are a warning sign of the UPND’s growing authoritarianism. The former minister has accused Hichilema of using vulgar language and threatening violence against his political opponents. He also claims that the UPND is using state power to harass and intimidate opposition party members.

Lubinda has warned that if the UPND continues on this path, it will only lead to a more oppressive and tyrannical government. He has called on the international community to pay close attention to the situation in Zambia and to hold the government accountable for any abuses of power.

The former minister’s comments have been met with mixed reactions from across the political spectrum. While some have praised him for speaking out against the UPND’s alleged abuses of power, others have accused him of sour grapes, given his past affiliation with the PF.

The UPND has dismissed Lubinda’s claims, describing them as baseless and unfounded. In a recent statement, the ruling party accused the former minister of trying to stir up trouble and create divisions within the Zambian political landscape.

  1. Lubinda is not currently a Member of Parliament. However his concerns are genuine especially after watching the utterances by the current president. It is really sad that president HH has not healed from the persecution he suffered under the PF regime. How I wish they could afford him some counseling. Those were indeed tough times but it is no excuse for his outbursts, he need to change focus on important things that are affecting the country. Let bygones be bygones is the way to go!

Your fellow crooks like Given Lubinda, Chishimba “Jabba the Hutt” Kambwili, Edgar Johnathan Mutawire Lungu, will be your fellow residents in the institution. HH will reform the economy of the country, and in 4 years, the good results will begin to appear. The Party of Fools will be in the wilderness for ever… Just be prepared to serve your sentence. You are not going anywhere near State House ever

    • Kaizar Zulu, in case you are not aware that I was referring to you in my last post, I want to make it clear now. Kalya-nyoko, you are a pending kaili at Chimbokaila, Mwembeshi or Lusaka Central… so make sure you finish this personal business which you do with your nyoko, because once you go in, you are not seeing each other for a long time. All that remains to happen is for the handcuffs to go around your wrist, and for the judge to formalise the sentence. You are already guilty and your crimes are already known

  4. The PF as a party is doing just fine. Hauling its current or former leaders before courts of law to answer for suspected criminal conduct is not harassing the party. No self-respecting politician would pay attention to the hallucinations of a junior governing party operative who doesn’t even speak for it.

    • It is OK to have an ailment. After all we are all human. Even with fainting our president did more for this country than that crooked eff up of a despot you call hh

In fact you could be the father of your own young brother.. This is one of the reasons, in addition to looting our country, and brutalising innocent people when you were a minion of Chagwa Agwa Jonathan Mutawire Edgar Lungu, that you should be a long term Kaili at Chimbokaila, Lusaka Central or Mwembeshi
