Two more aspiring candidates have filed in their nominations for Solwezi Central Constituency Parliamentary seat, bringing the total number to six ahead of the August, 13, 2026 General elections.
Among them is Andrew Lukamata under the National Reconciliation Party and Unity for Prosperity (NRUP) ticket and David Likashi, a former teacher as an independent.
This brings a total number to six candidates including those who filed in their nominations yesterday.
Speaking to Journalists after filing his nominations, Mr Likashi said if elected into office will ensure that there is improved access to clean water and road infrastructure.
Dr Lukamata said if voted for as Member of Parliament, he will facilitate the sinking of boreholes to ensure access to clean water in Solwezi Central Constituency.
Dr Lukamata who described the process of filing in of his nomination as free and fair has also pledged to work on the road network in the area.
Those who filed their nominations yesterday are
Bruce Kanema of the United Party for National Development (UPND), Poho Kawina, David Kalekesha and Rogers Kavula as independent candidates.
Solwezi Central Constituency has 63, 772 registered Voters and candidates are expected to file in their Nominations to compete for the parliamentary seat.
